I worked with her on the set of "A Walk in the Spring Rain."" She played the Mountain Wife of Anthony Quinn. Ingrid Bergman and Fritz Weaver were also in the movie. It was set in the Smokey Mountains of the spring of 1968. Virginia was kind and gracious, a lovely woman.

Actors like Virginia Gregg are the foundation of the acting craft and the entertainment industry. There is only a hair's breadth between "stardom" and being a character actor. Some of the best actors that have ever existed never made it to "stardom." Why not? Maybe not pretty enough (in the eyes of those who decide such things). Maybe they just wouldn't pay the price of stardom... often the price being their integrity and honor. Hat's off to Virginia and all those like her!
