Hello. I’m 14 years old and for years I’ve been in love with astronomy but never knew how to start this video and some of your other videos have helped me a lot and I genuinely appreciate it. Thank you!

That was hands down the best explanation of how binoculars and telescopes function, really eye opening.

Really nice to see a video about astronomy that doesn't cover telescopes. You don't need a lot of money to get into science, and while people like to watch review videos, they're not learning about science that way.

It's always fun to listen to someone talk about something they're knowledgeable and passionate about. You don't even have to be interested in it yourself.

I learned more about binoculars in this 14 minutes than I knew all my life! (I'm nearly 67) I was delighted to find out that the ones I've had for years are actually pretty decent for sky views!

Saw the moons of Jupiter last night for the first time using 15x70 binoculars. Blew my mind.

These are very useful intros for anyone early on in astronomy. Often the most overlooked tutorial that beginners need is a really good discussion of eyepieces, especially advice on what to avoid, where it's worthwhile to spend extra and why you need various pieces.

This is the reason why I subscribed to Ed Ting. He explains really well about telescopes and other things. This video deserves one million views!

I never considered binoculars as an astronomical tool. I tried last night with a pair of old binos from grandpa, and WOW was I wrong! Thank you for this great advice!

I’m absolutely in love with your channel! Glad to find this kind of quality content here in YouTube! Sadly I can only give you one like per each video, I’d give you several for each one!

One of my neighbors just gave me his old 70mm aperture, 700mm focal length, equatorial mounted refractor telescope, and this video has helped me get into the hobby quite a bit, thanks!

Watched so many videos as a photographer, trying to get into astronomy after all these years. Where have you been? These are some of the most helpful astronomy videos on youtube. If it wasn't for you, Niko, and Astrobiscuit, I'm not sure I would have had the courage/knowledge to jump in, though it was you that explained it most clearly. I wish i was still living in New England. THANKS!

I’ve ordered my first telescope but it’s going to be at least a month until it comes. I might get binoculars to hold out until then, thank you

Some years back I mounted a pair of small travel binoculars to a tripod, I was able to see Jupiter and a few of its moons. It wasnt the best image but you could still tell some of the moons were fully lit and some were not. You could tell it was in motion even though it appeared still to me. It was honestly incredible. Something about it to see that on my own of my own will, its like it proved to me that things can be proven. Like ok yeah it really is out there doing its thing and we only have to look to see it
