Volodymyr Zelenskiy fought back tears after a journalist asked the Ukrainian president what he found most difficult during the past year.

Zelenskiy held a press conference on the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He told reporters: ‘I love my wife, my children are the most important people to me,’ revealing he doesn’t see his parents ‘at all’ because of the war. The UN security council met to discuss the war in Ukraine, while the G7 announced more economic, military and financial sanctions against Russia.

actions speak loudly ..showing up and motivating on the front lines, daily briefings and meetings with allies, awarding heros and serviceman who selflessly serve and most importantly, not giving up and being an example of bravery, and even borderline workoholic.. - and what this man(and his wife) has(have) done this year is completely remarkable. slava ukraine

I can feel the sadness and pain in his voice. I can see it in his eyes. It's heartbreaking. He may be a superhero to some of us. But he's not. He's still human. He's not made of stone. He's not made of steel. He's flesh and blood like we all are. He has real emotions and feelings. He has love for his family. He feels pain and sadness just like we all do. What differences do you see between him and us? What differences do you see between the Ukrainians and us?

Strong and powerful yet aged so much - decades - in the last year alone. This is pure torment every day he is suffering not only for his family but for his people. Constant stress hormones lead to premature aging. He will free his country with the help of powerful allies and will go down in history books as one of the most inspiring figures in human history and the man who stood up to Putin's terror.

And this is just one Ukrainian. Imagine all those that don't have loved ones to come back home to... not to mention all those widows and grieving mothers in Russia. Putin must be stopped, or it won't be just Ukrainians weeping.
