RIAT24 F15
This stunning display at The Royal International Air Tattoo with perfect clouds created one of the best displays I have seen in a very long time! This BOEING F-15QA ABABIL aircraft will be configured ‘clean’ to show off the maximum performance of the aircraft, flown by Boeing test pilots.
The F-15QA Ababil was originally ordered by the Qatari Emiri Air Force during 2017 and 34 aircraft will be built in total. The F-15QA represents one of the most advanced F-15 variants ever made incorporating more powerful engines, a digital fly by wire system, an advanced radar and additional weapons pylons. The advent of the fly by wire system has increased the aircrafts agility and allows aerobatic manoeuvres previously unavailable to the F-15, including the tail slide. The F-15QA has also formed the basis of the newest F-15s to be ordered by the USAF - the F-15EX Eagle II

I was once contracting at an RAF base where some F15's from Lakenheath had flown in for a visit. One of the planes wouldn't re-start so there was a long delay, all the other F15's eventually took off & left this solitary plane behind. There was lots of activity, a flurry of white Ford Fiesta vans arrived (USAF technicians...?) & they worked on it in an absolute deluge of rain....I'd never heard a plane cough before, but these technicians had this plane loudly coughing as the engines were trying to run smoothly...!?!
So they got it running, & in the continuing deluge of rain the plane came 'round on the taxiway, with the pilot giving me a wave & thumbs up to the rained-off contractor I was (note: miserable RAF pilots NEVER waved at the base civilian contractors, visiting USAF pilots ALWAYS did...) & he went to the very, very far end of the runway. The runway was full of water from the rain, the pilot went the entire length of the runway on full afterburner turning all the water to steam & fog (took 20 minutes to clear from the airfield...!) & at the very end pulled hard up into the sky near vertical, & just as he disappeared into the rain clouds, started to slowly twist/rotate the plane..it was a spectacular maneouvre.
The F15 is still one of the most exciting aircraft to see & hear, thanks for the video.

Without a doubt some of the best camera work I have seen in a long time, he kept that F15 pretty much centered and in focus the whole time. Nicely done sir.

When you look at this F-15 and view them beating up the Mach Loop, a person tends to forget that this beast is almost 64 feet long. It's brutally graceful.

WOW!!! I've been a member of the F-15 maintenance community for the past 30+ years, on the USAF F-15A through F-15E, and now the F-15SG. I've seen countless sorties from air show demos to combat but I've never seen an F-15 do some of the maneuvers that I just witnessed. My jaw actually dropped! Very, very impressive. I've always believed the Eagle is the greatest fighter ever built and after seeing this, she's still the baddest b!tch in the sky!!!

Hands down, the best F-15 flight demonstration I've ever seen. Two engines with a few extra control planes and a skilled pilot... 😁 Amazing.

Wow! This must be the best Eagle demonstration ever! The FBW allows for impressive maneuvers, but the pilot deserves standing ovation for for having put together a fantastic display.

The plane is so amazing, but the videograpy is incredible. I'm blown away by this footage. Great job, great skill.

Old F-15A/C driver here. I saw this demo at a STL airshow recently, and was absolutely awestruck. If it can survive to the merge, it will remain the dominant knife fighter in the world.

The F-15 always looks good showing off its stuff.

In 1967 my lab was assembling the optical components for a virtual image flight simulator as part of our proposal to the Air Force in the competition for the first F-15 production contract. We won that competition.

Other engineers in my lab were on long term field assignment at the Air Force wind tunnels in Tullahoma, TN testing the F-15 engine inlet tunnels.

That work was done 57 years ago, and the F-15 continues to soldier on. That still amazes me after all that time.

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Absolutely brilliant demo. Looking like a raptor out there. Serious power to weight ratio on display, fly by wire makes all the difference.

The noise when it pulled out of the high alpha into the loop was epic, its a beast!!!!

That pilot is truly intimate with his jet. What an impressive display of skill. One really nice kit.

That IS without a doubt the BEST F-15 demo flight I have ever seen... I have never seen such maneuvers by this airplane in 30-plus years of being around the USAF... Its the accelerations and decelerations.. coming out of a loop straight into minimum control airspeed, (aka High Alpha pass), then coming out of the loop and accelerating, to a high-speed pass following up with a high G pull-up... then a reversal.. just amazing! this was incredible!!!!

That last stall at vertical into a controlled recovery was pure test pilot skill.

Not only was that a short, very short take off, the flight stayed above the airport itself if not within the length of the runway . Awesome aircraft with an exceptional pilot .

That’s one hell of a pilot in one hell of a airplane, stunning in every sense of the word ….WOW ❤❤❤

This might be the best airshow footage I've ever seen.

SO that is what an f-15 can do with a fly by wire system. Amazing!

That FBW and those GE-129 engines really opened up the envelope for the F-15 by the looks of that display.
