This will work over water based stains, but not oil based stains. The citrus helps the tung oil soak into the wood better than straight tung oil

If you don't care about appearance but just want its protective properties like on siding or posts, is there any reason to bother wiping off the excess? It would be pretty tricky on rough cut lumber in particular.

Quick question for you my friend hemp oil ? Same company do you mix it with paint thinner and also can you use with pump sprayer? For garage door and windows

well, I found away to mess it up. as usual I skipped mosed of your video and went to the part I needed. what I herd was you only need to wipe the mess off after your last coat. no rush. 30 days... darn it if I didn't do 2 heavy coats the first night and not wipe any off. I was so exited to see the results in the morning and man was I disappointed. the puddled up areas dried to a salty crusty substance that was stuck to the chairs. this is totally my fault. it was late and clearly I was not thinking. what oil finish would you ever leave puddles on ov er night? I immediately started scrambling for an idea on how to remedy this. what I came up with not only solved the problem it actually made the finish better.thge lesson learned by me was know before you go. like Eddie says.

400 grit wet/dry sand paper with the net 2 finishes. I started with 600 but it wasn't removing the blemishs but 400 worked like a dream.

Thank you for your helpful and funny video! I LOVE Real Milk Paint Products. Have been using them for a decade. My question is: my redwood fence (made with reclaimed redwood that is 400+ years old) has turned black. Sadly we didn’t get anyone to apply the oil for the last 3 years. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove the black (caused by heat, moisture and fun SoCal climate) stains? There are a lot. If you suggest sanding, which grit would you use? Thank you, Thomas.

Don't like applying the finish?!! That's the most satisfying part as it highlights the efforts in making the project.

I applied this after watching your video on my cedar based sunroom but the smell is still so strong even after 5 months. Is there a way to get rid of it?

Thank you! I want to apply this to my newly installed covered 250 sq ft front porch floor. It’s black locust T&G. I contacted Real Milk Paint and they said it’s the best thing to use. What procedure would you suggest for a porch floor to apply multiple coats as far as walking on it while applying? The product won’t arrive for several days and we are getting rain for several days. Does the wood need to dry out before I start applying it next week? Any other tips much appreciated! Great video!!

I’m so new to all this and this may be a dumb question but can you put this over an oil based stain? It’s for a wooden ledge/shelf on an outdoor kitchen that gets a fair amount of sun and rain. Thanks!

Have you used this on Redwood? I'm making a redwood slab table (10 ft x 4 ft) for indoor use only and was considering using pure/100% Tung Oil but can't seem to find any finished products with tung/redwood..

So I know diddly squat about wood finishes, that's why I watched this video. Sounds like it'll work out for some of my projects, thanks. 👍🏻

This stuff is awful!! I am so upset at how my heartpine table looks. I truly don’t know what to do. I used a soft rag and kept applying as it soaked in. I stopped when it continued to look so dark!!! I hate the way it ruined the honey tones in the pine. I’m so glad I didn’t put it on my front porch!!! Can this be sanded off after this one application?

I appreciate the information you have provided. Thank you! It’s very helpful.
However, the two-camera thing is super distracting and not fun to watch. It’s kind of an infuriating gimmick. Why are we seeing quick cuts to your profile while you’re talking?

I planned on using this for some cedar shed trim. You mentioned the cure time. You think it would be okay to install trim and let it cure outside or would early exposure to the elements affect that? Thanks
