Installing a Kicker Motor and Bracket on a 2001 16ft Dauntless Bostonwhaler

This particular bracket has a 9.5” vertical travel distance. In order to determine the proper mounting location I had to measure the distance between the upper inside edge of the motors’s mounting clamp to the anti-cavitation plate then subtract two inches. For this motor it was 15”- 2”= 13”+ 9.5” = 23.5”

I marked the total length (23.5”) on a stick and clamped it to the mounting board making sure it was flushed at the top. I aligned the bracket so that the bottom of the stick was 1” above the bottom of the transom and marked my holes with a sharpie making sure the bracket was level.

Thanks for this! I have the same boat, but it has the swim ladder on the other side. How did this work out for you? Looks like a long shaft kicker you hung on there?

Thanks for putting this video together. My Panther bracket cautions not to have the engine mounted while trailering. Do you trailer with your kicker engine? I have the exact same boat as yours. Nice boat!
