Here's How To FIX Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin opened in 1998 at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. So the ride is, well, a little outdated, and many fans have been wanting Disney to give this attraction the refurbishment it deserves. Now with the new Pixar film, Lightyear, coming out this June, following the story of the Buzz Lightyear that the TOY from Toy Story was BASED on, this opens up some possibilities to a MAJOR retheme over at Star Command in the coming years. So without any further ado, let’s take a look at what’s on the horizon for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

I agree with this whole video, the lines are always pouring outside and it would be nice for some better technology on the ride system. Or better yet add some sort of interactive aspect inside the queue.

This ride absolutely needs some TLC. However, despite being made over 20 years ago and living off of a ride system and track that dates back to Magic Kingdom's opening day, this ride is better than Shanghai's Planet Rescue. Planet Rescue has zero animatronics. Tons of static cutouts and screens. If they made it more like that ride, it would be a huge step backwards for a vibrant, animated, and colorful ride like Space Ranger Spin. Plus, the laser pointers on the guns make aiming less challenging. What they should do is bring the ride closer to Astro Blasters. Change the targets to signify their point value, give the guns more feedback (i.e. you know when you hit and when you miss), and make the guns into laser pistols instead of mounted blasters. Everything else you said, I'm in favor of. Extend the queue, extend the ride, spruce it up a little. Nice video!

I think outside of merchandise capability with this tie-in (which is definitely high on Disney’s list of priorities with new expansions) doing this would also keep the Toy Story IP while also distancing it from the Toy Story land over in DHS. A lot of discourse I hear about this ride’s existence is “why have this toy story shooting ride when there’s a more modern one in Hollywood studios?” So I think this would solve that problem too. This makes so much sense.. I've argued they need to do something with this ride since Toy Story land opened. My idea was change to Stitch blaster ride, same idea though.

Like the idea but a full on Lightyear refurb/retheme that would take years to complete and reconfiguration of buildings and experiences seems a bit unrealistic.

If the ride is still busy this seems like an unnecessary expense and it does seem like Disney is budget cutting with some things such as Cosmic Rewind and Galactic Starcruiser. I’d love to be wrong though.

I agree maybe Disney could do this after Tron opens at the Magic Kingdom and if Buzz lightyear is getting its own film what about Woody because he is another popular character in the Toy story and I have a idea for this that you well Comfortable to share it in a next video

So back in June of 2020 during the early phase of the Covid-19 pandemic Disney announced that splash mountain in both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom to retheme into Princess and the frog and I think that would be find to do it in Disneyland because Splash Mountain in Disneyland is right next to New Orleans Square but Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom yeah I don’t think that is very unlikely and here are reason why Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom is located in the middle of Frontierland and if they a retheme to princess and the frog in the Magic Kingdom it would cost a lot of money to retheme some of the surrounding areas of splash mountain and Splash mountain ride itself to make it like a Louisiana / New Orleans area and Disney knows that because Disney has spent on a lot of money on every single project that they announce that are already done or still yet to complete like Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, Avengers Campus, Epcot Overhaul, the Mary Poppins Ride etc. and yeah I don’t think is very unlikely to get a retheme of princess and the frog ride to Splash mountain however if they want to do something relate it to princess and the frog in the Magic Kingdom just do it over at Tom Sawyer’s Island because literally nobody goes there is just full of peace of crap sorry for the language so I think that would be a perfect spot for a princess and the frog ride or restaurant in the Magic Kingdom Albright now back to Splash mountain here is my idea now before I start sharing this idea I need to give you a understanding why does this make sense so back when the Magic Kingdom opens in October of 1971 it didn’t open with Pirates of the Caribbean because little to the guess know that Disney Imaginaire Marc Davis was working a attraction similar to Pirates of the Caribbean but based on the Wild West he called this ride the Western River Expedition it was going to be a boat ride similar to pirates but his ride never came to be because guess at that time want pirates of Caribbean and it was also canceled because due the construction on space mountain and Epcot and then a upcoming imaginaire name Tony Baxter Decide a western roller coaster that we all know today Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and then in 1995 Toy Story was released and the characters of Woody and Buzz had become Icons of Toy Story franchise so now today what does this idea had to do with Woody and the western river expedition into the retheme of Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom my idea is to had the western river expedition original concept and combined it with Woody’s roundup in the attraction story line for the retheme of Splash Mountain at Walt Disney world and I think this idea is absolutely unbelievable because for 3 reasons the 1st reason is Woody is one of the most famous characters in Toy Story not just the Franchise but also in Pixar as well like this character became so popular in the Disney parks we see in shows, parades, dying entertainment, Disney cruises and even rides and speaking about that I know you guys are probably going to say Woody is already popular in Toy Story land over at Hollywood Studios and I completely understand that but there is already a buzz lightyear ride in Magic Kingdom and plus we’re getting a Sci-fi movie about the toy story character and I think these ideas could be the similar thing to Woody because like I said earlier he is one of the most Iconic characters in the Toy Story franchise and when I was a kid when I first watch Toy Story I thought to myself Woody is my favorite character in Toy Story and a lot of Toy Story fans love this character and I think Woody deserves to had its Owen ride in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World just like his friend Buzz and the hole theme to the western river expedition it would also give Credit to Marc Davis because he design a attraction that was drawing more guests to visit but it never did. 2 if this Woody ride of Splash Mountain came a Reality it would help to draw more guests to park because once’s Tron opens a lot of guests are going to go the East side of park in Tomorrowland to ride on it Disney needs to do the same to draw to the west side of the Magic Kingdom tours Frontierland. And 3 they could change the outside of the attraction into another hoodoo rock work spire like Big Thunder Mountain because it would help fit perfectly in Frontierland because Frontierland is all about the old Frontier Wild West

And yeah that is my idea of Woody from Toy Story should get it’s own ride in the Magic Kingdom instead of princess and the frog and also throw in Jessie and Bullseye as well in the ride
