Roger Troutman's last single - Chocolate City (feat. Shirley Murdock) 1997. I was playing this track every chance I got, lol and then some, when I was at WROU U92 in Dayton, Ohio! I met Roger once in his office back in 1980, or 81 right after the Many Facets album dropped. The very first time I met him, we ended up spending the whole afternoon in his office, one on one, just chopping it up about Funk, and him telling me stuff about his contract and the music business in general. Me, especially from a radio DJ's perspective pertaining to how audiences receive new music and Funk, from a psychological perspective. He was getting so many phone calls that a couple of I stood up to leave, but he kept motioning for me to sit back down! And that was my first time meeting him! And I was unannounced when I went there! Plus they had a concert at Hara Arena that same night and they were going straight out on tour from there! But he spent the whole entire afternoon with me anyway!☺️❤️ May he rest in peace. Gone far too soon.❤️
