How do people of Nigerian, Ghanaian, Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, Pakistani, Guyanese, Laotian, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Cambodian, Hmong, Turkish and Filipino ancestry do so well in America? They all have higher average median household incomes than the average white American household. Do white people love these particular ethnic groups more than they love themselves? Does systemic racism work only against African Americans? Help me understand.

I was in a neighborhood working last night and a bunch of little kids came down the street with a ball and a dog, a bit like the Little Rascals. And they started fighting over the ball like little kids do.
The big black boy suddenly thunders "Youre a RACIST!!" because this little white girl wouldn't give him the ball. She must have been like 4 years old. She stomps and yells back "I am NOT a wacist!!" "Yes you are gimme the ball, you racist."
I'm like OMG, they're already starting and barely old enough to walk. How did we get here sigh

According to most of these stats, it sounds like a class difference, not necessarily a difference that's the result of ongoing racism. Am I surprised that people who have less money don't have as good life-long outcomes as people who have more money? No. If this video is just pointing out that poor people don't do as well as not poor people, then it's more a video about the impacts of class and poverty as opposed to racism and prejudice. It would take a lot more work than this video put in to demonstrate it's thesis of systemic racism as the best explanation for these disparities, as opposed to just assuming it's conclusion is true. This video also assumes that black people don't have any agency, that black people are stuck with whatever white people did to them. And that strikes me as a racist view.

Graduate from High School, wait until marriage to have a kid and get a job. These three things virtually guarantee not living in poverty in America regardless of your ethnic background.

All these gaps that are mentioned in this video go away when you control for IQ, age, impulse control, temperament, and behaviors. And that's not exactly the whole story - the average IQ distribution in your community and household matters a LOT. So if you have an African-American with an extraordinarily high IQ of 105, but all of his family averages at 85, he's going to be disadvantaged relative to those who have higher IQ families. Furthermore, his future kids will have an average IQ midway between his IQ and his population average (roughly 95). This will also cause hardship for him. Having smart kids is awesome, but having kids that are below 100 is going to be quite challenging in a world that is increasingly reliant on high IQ personnel...

For US sake, look at the disparity based on socioeconomic factors not only race.

Fatherless homes is a huge factor which can be traced back to the 60's and white liberal policies incentivizing women to not have men in the house so they can get a government check. This impacted people of all colors but especially the black family which over a few decades tripled as a result. Its a known fact that poverty hits harder in single parent homes and that young men are multiple times more likely to get involved in gangs drugs and crime without a strong father in the home.

Why does systemic racism supposedly hold black people back from achieving academic success but it doesn't hold them back from achieving success in sports, music and entertainment?

Please study Thomas Sowell on this topic.

Among black children who are raised by married parents, the rate of long term, chronic poverty is close to zero. Also, 93% of black murder victims are killed by other black people. The solution? Get married before your first child is born. Also, obey the law. There you go. Problem solved.

Work as hard as others. Stop picking on each other for trying. They're not uncle Tom's for getting educated. They want a decent life. They're thinking ahead. Parents help your children out especially when young.

Don't let finances hinder you. Dr. Ben Carson came from poverty but worked hard to become a surgeon.

There is not really systemic racism, but there is systematic racism against African Americans. Plenty of colored people who come from other parts of the world to US and do very well. But if I were to be a young African American growing up in US, I think I would venture to other parts of the world.

The differences in childbirth statistics are not complex, and it's not about access to healthcare, it's the choices that people make for their lives, and it's Universal that a person with a low IQ makes markedly poor choices for their lives

I'm White. Asian Americans have higher graduation rates, higher income rates, lower incarceration rates and higher 2 parent household rates and even longer average life spans. Does that mean I am a victim of systemic racism?

Do these people ever notice mistakes in the past that may have led to this point?

Thank you Reuters for these statistics, but ... where is the racism in those statistics? Where is prejudice, discrimination, antagonism from one race to another? 30 years ago you could take same charts you showing here and replace "whites" and "blacks" with western europeans and eastern europeans. At that time no sane mind would call those xenophobic or "sistemic" paneuropean xenophobia. Everyone knew that easterns were occupied, governed and indoctrinated by socialists, thats why we had these differences. Whats happening there in US?

There is no systemic racism in the US. In fact, the US is one of the least racist countries on earth. If you're really interested in fighting systemic racism, focus on places like the Middle East and China where it really is a problem. Not here.
