Listening to Prager really illustrates how the Pharisees thought. They were thinking legalistically, finding ways to satisfy their flesh, while APPEARING to honor God. Jesus called them hypocrites and said they strain out a gnat, but swallow a camel! They used legalism to find loopholes that would allow them to sin under the Law. And this is why Jesus said that committing sins in your heart is the same as actually doing them, because there are NO LOOPHOLES with God. He knows our heart better than we do.
