I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.

Billy Corgan has had a lot of feuds over the course of his career and I’ve covered those on my channel. The links are dow below. Now, typically these feuds are with other musicians or bands, but in 2014 Corgan found himself locked in a war of words with a news network. That’s what were going to discuss in today’s video.

One of CNN’s highest rated shows and i say that in quotes because lets face it the only people who watch CNN are people at airports is Anderson Cooper 360. I haven’t seen the show in years, but I remember he used to have a lighter news segment on his show called the ridiculist which calls out ridiculous news items. On his program in 2014, one night in October of 2014, he took a swing at the Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan for appearing on the front cover of a hometown cat magazine called Paws Chicago for their summer issue. Not only that but his twitter page teased that night's episode with the tweet. where are they now from 6 millions albums to posing with cats

On top of that Anderson Cooper also criticized Corgan for appearing in a local furniture ad in his hometown as well. Here's the news clip of Anderson Cooper goofing on Billy Corgan Time now for the ridiculust and tonight i'd like to invite you to come with me on a musical trip down memory lane. Not too far back, just about 20 years, when the shirts were flanel, the rock was alternative and Smashing Pumpkins burst onto the mainstream with their album Siamese Dream. So maybe the guitar sound was a bit derivitive of my bloody valentine, but that's besides the point Siamese Dream came out in 1993 and sold 6 million copies worldwide and is listed on Rolling Stones 500 greatest albums of all time. Smashing Pumpkins made more records, but you really don't hear much about them these days, that is until now. But tonight i am happy to report that frontman Billy Corgan is back and edgier than ever on the cover of paws chicago magazine. Now Idon't know if you can read the sub headline it says billy corgan's siamese dream. Well played paws chicago. well played. Now this is a kind of jarring event for a couple reason, one being for that it made us google what else is billy corgan has been up to and just last year he was in a commercial for a chicago furniture store.Wait! That's a walter e smith chair! Walter E Smith. So perhaps billy corgan is Idon't know off his alternative rocker, but i think maybe there's more too this. Maybe he's being ironic or maybe when the cool rockstars start doing less rockstary things it kind of makes us face our own mortality. See i want REM to stay just the way i know and love them. I don't want everybody hurts to be used in an excedrin commercial. I don't want to see a product called Eddie Vedder's Prune jam. Maybe the internet is the real problem here. There was a time when nobody outside of chicago would have seen the cover of paws chicago magazine. The pinnacles of cool from days gone by do what you gotta do you'll always have a rock n' roll in our hearts and on the ridiculist.

Strangely enough, Billy Corgan wasn't the first person to respond to Anderson Cooper's segment. Paws Chicago first responded by photoshopping Anderson Cooper's head onto a magazine about dogs. Corgan would have his say on twitter shortly afterwards stating sorry to disappoint, but when I'm not raising cane for a great organization like Paws Chicago, I'm still making real music. I realize you're too busy being a globalist shill to know the difference,y. Corgan wasn't done just yet. As by the end of the month he started selling FU anderson cooper shirts in his hometown of chicago during a concert with proceeds from the shirts would go to a local charity.

Even 3 years later in 2017 Corgan appeared with a newly reunited Smashing Pumpkins minus bassist D’Arcy Wretzky lineup on Howard Stern's radio show on Sirius XM and Stern brought up his feud with THE CNN Anchor. Stern asked whether Corgan wanted an apology from the news broadcaster to which Corgan repliedI wouldn't want one. It wouldn't mean anything to me. I've seen enough of his ilk. He's playing for a team that doesn't have my best interest at heart i would argue Amer

Anderson only got anywhere because of the Vanderbilt name, Billy worked for it. That's all I need to know.

Imagine making fun of someone for something as wholesome as liking Cats, and trying to support local businesses in his hometown. He's always been incredibly loyal to his hometown.

CNN questioning someone’s authenticity is laughable.

I'm not a Smashing Pumpkins fan by any means, but Mr. Corgan used his image to support both a local business and animal welfare, which makes him a decent person in my book. I saw him on That Metal Show and was impressed with his intelligence and willingness to stand up for his own personal views without insulting anyone else. Anderson Cooper took a bit of a misstep there. But I enjoyed the times when Greg Gutfeld had certain GWAR members on the show more.

Hilarious how a huge rock star like Corgan can be much more a man of the people than so-called journalists. They can't understand it and denigrate him for it.

"Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."

The weird part is that he’s honing in on Siamese dream which isn’t even their biggest album. I’m surprised Anderson Cooper even knows who my bloody valentine is. I wonder who wrote his monologue for him

Anderson is right, instead of doing a commercial for a small business, he could have been patrolling playgrounds to protect them from CNN producers.

Imagine being on CNN and having the audacity to clown somebody for being on the cover of a magazine and a local commercial, both more credible and respected than CNN. Are you kidding me?

Wow, Billy was way ahead of his time calling Anderson Cooper a globalist shill. The future will bless that comment.

Never been much into Smashing Pumpkins but Billy Corgan comes across as a clear thinker and straight shooter.

What the hell kind of "news" is it to belittle someone and try to mock him for not being as popular as he was 20 years earlier?

Remember when Anderson Cooper was reporting on a hurricane/flood and went on tv standing in chest high water and a picture from behind came out of him standing in a pond? That was awesome

Cooper mocking a man (Billy) for lending support to his fellow neighbor (local business) & for love of animals is the epitome if ridiculous. Cooper/REM.

Just glad that we as Americans can all unify and hate CNN for our own reasons

Billy Corgan has ALWAYS been that guy. First, when did loving animals become anti-rock star? Second, wrestling and rock are constantly put together. The commercial is funny for local. Was it a slow news day?

What's wrong with having a bit of fun doing some smalltime hometown stuff? It's endearing, if you've got any kind of soul left, but empty suits like Cooper probably don't.

I remember hearing about this when it first happened and my only reaction was to be happy that such a brilliant musician loves cats.

Coming from Anderson Cooper, this is laughable.

Loving animals, showing kindness to animals and especially raising money for animals makes you a bad ass in my book. I remember when this story was a story and my first thought was "oh that's awesome...go Billy!!!".
