The latest updates on status epilepticus treatment

Eugen Trinka, MD, Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria, discusses the latest treatment updates for status epilepticus following the evidence in the established stage of status epilepticus from randomized control trials. These trials found intravenous, intranasal, buccal and intrapulmonary anti-seizure medications all interrupted status epilepticus promptly. Prof. Trinka also talks on the importance of deep-phenotyping of the status epilepticus early on when the major causes of status epilepticus are not identified.
