The day began on a very low note. My cousin who had been fighting cancer for 2 1/2 years passed away this morning. He fought hard and persevered through a tremendous amount of chemo treatments. He was my hero. And I’m going to miss him!

We finished the first field today. 312 acres...complete. It appears to have made about 30 bpa. The test weight was really good - 63 lbs. However, the protein was pretty low - 10.9%.

Ryan claims that due to the low protein, the elevator would be piling it on the ground and labeling it “winter wheat”. Not sure how they get away with that.

A very short-lived shower moved through the area. Not much rain but quite a bit of wind. One gust measured 68 mph.

Probably better not count on a rain day tomorrow ...

Sorry to hear about your cousin. And not being able to see him because of this covid crap. But if he knew the Lord there is no more tears, no more pain. I'm sure you will cherish all the fond memories you had together. If I could I would reach out and give you a hug. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. To some of us your living only what we dream of. Your giving us a glimpse of what a lot of us will probably never see in our lifetime. The beautiful artwork of our Creator. Again thank you for sharing. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, A time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.

The old Barber Transportation truck brought back some memories! They were a major player in the Rapid City area for many years.

Showing your emotions are what make your videos real, especially for those of us who go through harvests every year. This is especially refreshing in the current social media world where most people try to create a false impression.

Sorry for your loss. One of the most priceless Blessings of life is family, being an involved part of that larger family, and being close to cousins...yet we often miss countless family events for reasons beyond us...you loved, they loved in return, priceless!! Like the old single axle truck, so common at harvest such a short time ago, memories, happy memories. God Bless!

Your video was just perfect...it allowed all of us to see a real human, life is hard at times and we all need to absorb it’s speed bumps as as humans, it is perfectly alright to cry and feel sad...never apologize for your compassion of family, your chosen life...heads up and smile we grieve with you.
God bless you and your family

As has already been noted, sorry for your loss, but also never be ashamed or apologize for having feelings. Though most of us have never met you, we are your extended family and travel with you in the combine, truck, and in all the territory that you offer comments on as you go, including your family .
I'll share with you, although you may not feel any better, my neighbor directly across the street died recently, his wife couldn't take care of him so moved him to a home and that was the last she saw him, he died a few days later and because of Covid 19, even she could not visit. I only mention this because we all sit here wondering what the new normal is going to be. Take care, look forward every day to your posts and stay safe!!

Sorry to hear of the tragedy with your cousin. I know it has to be very hard to deal with when you're "on the road". His pain has ended and he's off to a better place now. He'll be watching you harvest from up there now. God bless you.

Hi Tracy.
Nice to see your grandkids looking happy and healthy at the start of the video.
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your cousin, may he rest in peace. It's good to have the memories.
It's the circle of life, young kids without a worry or care. Then as we get older, we find plenty to worry about. Your cousin is at rest now and we hope to be all reunited in the next life.
We must enjoy life while we can.
Keep doing what you're doing and some day yourself and Jim will have great memories. The combine is a good place to reflect and be thankful.
Thanks for another glimpse into your world.☘
