Poland’s foreign minister, Radosław Sikorski, has said that the government has prepared for all eventualities in the U.S. election, saying that it did not want to repeat the mistakes of the previous Law and Justice (PiS) government. Expanding on Donald Tusk’s recent statement that Europe’s future rested in its own hands rather than America’s, Sikorski said that regardless of who wins [the U.S. election], the attention and resources of the U.S. are shifting to the Pacific and to its rivalry with China. What will be the impact of US elections on Poland? Adam Jasser Deputy Director for News at TVP World joined us to discuss these issues during US elections special edition.

Bringing you all the latest daily news and updates, TVP World is Poland's first English-language channel where you can find world news as seen from the Polish perspective and the latest news from the CEE region. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram.

trump likes Poland. People cheered for him when he visited. That is all it takes. trump is probably unaware that PiS is out even tho Duda is still there. A system of gov that is way over trump’s head. Yes, he has aids that will try to explain but so long as he shows up and people cheer, a couple of hundred clapping folks is all it takes. trump will fly away happy that he is such a great statesman.

But will trump visit the Kremlin or want putin to visit the WH? Will he promise putin that he will not be arrested and sent to the Netherlands? Is that true?

I am happy that Trump won. I think Poland is a strong US ally. I agree we, the US, should aid Ukraine, but with one giant caveat. Ukraine’s greatest need is man power. Given the high amount of Ukrainian’s that fled and don’t wish to fight for their own country I don’t sending aid to Ukraine is a wise investment of US aid. Ukraine needs to force all the people that fled back to help fight for their own country before giving more aid.
