Christianity _did_ spread to Asia. The Apostle Thomas converted a population in southern India which is still thriving today. There were bishoprics as far East as Afghanistan in the VIth Century, and there is a monument in China that is evidence of ancient Christian presence. In fact, Christianity at some point became so huge in China that it lead to the Taiping Rebellion, which was a bloodbath and is one reason why the country is very suspicious of that faith to this day. According to some estimates, there could be about 100 million Christians in China, but it's hard to have reliable numbers because these Christians have to practice their faith in secret out of fear. Then, there's the whole story of how Korea converted itself to Christianity without external pressure or influence. Some dude just smuggled a Bible from China, and upon studying it with friends, he converted. Today, about one third of South Korea is Christian.

That's just for the Far East, of course. Christianity has been at times the main religion in Asian countries like Lebanon, Syria, Armenia, Turkey, etc.
