I read "garbage" and thought “wow this girl is brave actually calling a brand garbage” 😂

i used to work there and trust me none of their clothes are worth their prices. everything the other girls i worked with would buy would always look like shit after not even 6 months. genuinely have no idea why ppl waste their money when their clothes are coming from the same place as shein.

I remember when garage rebranded the first time. I walked in, looked around and realized I wasn't the demo anymore 😂

I remember shopping at Garage in the 90s… how times have changed 😢

OMG when they rebranded the first time it was such whiplash! Used to be dark, blasting metal and stinking of pot. I remember walking in the first time after they changed😂😂

When I was 8 or 9 (20+ years ago) I would always beg my mom to let me shop at Garage. It was much more alternative back then. Like preppy-punk/Avril Lavigne vibes. When I turned 13, I was finally allowed to shop there, and even after those 5 years, it became much more preppy. Nowadays, they sell clothes to appeal to teens and the latest trends yet use 30 year old models who set unhealthy beauty standards by being pumped with silicone. Wild.

I got one of my favorite cardigans from there literally 15 years ago and it’s still holding on strong. The quality must have been better back then.

The prices there make me want to scream. This is why I buy most of clothing from thrift stores now

Since we are here talking about a brand that used to be alternative, no one remembers Torrid being like a Hot Topic back in the day. Anytime I mention it, people are confused. I ordered T.U.K Platform Creepers from their site back in 2012ish!

I bought a top from there for $35 and a few months later found the same thing at H&M for $9… I highly don’t recommend garage

Their leggings use to be awesome over ten years ago. Nice and thick.

I used to work at garage. Most stores have way too much clothing supply, so it’s hard to keep the storefront clothing layout, branding, and merchandising in order. It always took us half a week to update everything…. Im so glad I wasn’t working for this rebrand 😭

I remember trying on their jeans as a teenager. TRAUMATIZING. Thank God for fashion nova because those were the only jeans that fit me. Now all I wear is Abercrombie Curve Love line.

Mind you, I’m not even plus size. I’m a Jean size 4 and 6 😭😭

Before COVID they had pretty good deals/sales and the clothes were decent quality for being fast fashion.
I loved shopping there because as a petite+curvy girl the clothes fit my dimensions pretty well, way better than other stores at a similar price range.
They have rebranded twice since then. They're brandy melville wannabes and charging double what they used to just a few years ago. The quality has also gone even lower, when they weren't that great to begin with. It's at the point they are now the same quality as SHEIN, selling a regular shirt for $35-50 CAD. They used to sell regular priced $15-20 CAD, and sales would be B1G1 free OR buy X amount, get 15-30% off around back to school time & end of season. They've also bought into having micro seasons, so they're constantly releasing new items instead of just investing in higher quality designs, selling a more limited quantity for a longer period of time, and selling them for a reasonable price. The fast fashion epidemic has ruined all of my favorite brands 😩

Some of these clothing stores are crazy. I worked at KROGER apparel. KROGER. And we regularly had $105 'shaping' leggings and $80 sweaters (from brands no one knew)... and they'd be ugly, mature (older women) style clothes. Our hanes 5 pack of white t-shirts was $45. HANES PLAIN WHITE TSHIRTS. You go to walmarts and grocery for cheap stuff, not luxury pricing.

I haven’t even thought about garage since 2008… surprised they’re still around tbh

I remember a few years ago lot of people were really upset with Garage for their overly sexualized branding when the main demographic that buys their clothing is young girls. They said some BS about trying to reach a different demographic, but yeah. 😐

I always thought I was the only one that didn’t like garage clothes
