Video wizardry by Spike Jonze who I would assume to be a friend of John Frusciante (the musician - 'Murderers' from 2001 album To Record Only Water For Ten Days) from LA art/music scene. The whole tune goes for 2:41. Yes they did green screen method then frame by frame manipulation and a lot of hours in post production. Minor masterpiece :)

Recreating every shadow must of been such an exhausting job... U extract the background fill from the frames ahead and behind the current frame to replace the board, which still is no simple task, but creating and blending the new shadows with what already exists would have taken forever... and know one even notices.... That's pretty much the deal for 85% of all visual effects produced

How do they manage to take out the green skateboards but still show what's behind them?

I know how greenscreen works, but they need to have footage of what's behind the green skateboards too, did they like program the cameras mivements to make them move automatically to record the background without the skaters first? And then they blended both takes while eliminating the green skateboards?

They painted the boards green then edited them out of the film. Same way a green screen works. If you watch the entire Yea Right! Girl skate film they explain how they do it

What’s the video where they did it using guys in green screen suits, and the guy does a trick where the board does some crazy flip through a gate while he goes over the gate, but it was fake because the green screen guys flipped the board? I think it was a girl or chocolate video

But what about shadows? How they did that? I know that it is not fake but I'm just curious, how they did it?

@sk8er4009 its not fake =) they used green skateboards and then cut them out (like a green screen effect). But it's awesome indeed =)
