Actual reason why it’s probably called “Virgin Cannon”:
DT cannon is one of the worst openers of its kind, when you compare it to other openers that have the same attack output (T-Spin Double + T-Spin Triple, or the other way around) it can be easily punished because you’ve made an opening on the side columns of your board as opposed to the center- where your pieces spawn. That means if someone uses your attack against you almost immediately after you attack with DT Cannon, you die a very quick death. (This happens more often than you think it does.)
