A few decades ago, I left the armed forces (UK) after some stressful times and bad experiences. I needed to understand what had happened to me and hace spent the time since then understanding it and sharing my knowledge. However, at times my brain and emotions would be overcome and I would feel as though I was either stressed out OR I felt like I was sat in a dark room with a wet blanket over me. I started 'bugging out' with just a backpack, sleeping bag and taking off on my own to my native Yorkshire Moors (as in Wuthering Heights) and I would stay there living off the land and seeing no-one for two or three days and nights. I would return feeling refreshed and renewed. I understand fully what you mention about being ready to return home. You expressed it beautifully (as always). Thanks Ali.Keep on keeping on.

One of things I love most about vacations is the space to change plans. So much of my life is routine which I enjoy but it leaves less space for changing plans. Vacations are about freedom to change my plans as the time unfolds. I love that you honored your feelings and changed course. Really enjoy your channel. All the best.

Blow up mattress that splits, deserve to go out of business. Maybe ultra lite for hiking but really who needs that potentially life-threatening 'feature'??

For car camping, weight is not the issue so...

Otherwise sublime vid at every level, slow living at it's best. How do you manage that and drink coffee at the same time?? Even the dogs look chilled!
