I'm still watching the video but what annoys me is that people have this need of hating someone because they don't have the same taste. I like watching these type of videos because I get to know books I never read but just because you didn't like the book, it doesn't mean I won't like it either. Those comments you were talking about in the beginning of the video are truly annoying to me because all of us go through different stuff throughout our lives; our opinions might change.
Anyway, thank you so much for the video, I've been reading many books you talked about in your last review video and I'm truly enjoying all of them (which is weird, in my case haha).
Love from Portugal <3

I think Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is not a book for everybody. I personally LOVED IT! I couldn't put it down and I would almost say it's one of my favorite reads.

I literally laughed out loud when you said Eleanor Oliphiant! I loved that book (and The Bell Jar) but totally can understand the criticism - both books fit the headspace I was in at that time. But please keep sharing your opinion! It’s very valid and I love hearing about other books I might’ve not picked up :)

I read Eleanor Oliphant and I really liked it! I think it's because I actually liked reading about Eleanor. She is quite odd but endearing too. I know a lot of people don't like her as a character, maybe that's why many people don't like this book. I don't really get why people get so defensive about books. There can be more than one opinion and there are no wrong opinion!

Your shirt is so cute. 😍
Everyone has their own reasons for not loving a novel. Everyone can just calm down that you don't like a book they do.

It’s fine if you didn’t like the bell jar. I was called an “anti-feminist” because I thought pride and prejudice was awful. I guess people are just very over protective of the books they love and it somehow translates into aggression if others don’t share the same sentiment.

I also did not like Plath's The Bell Jar. My roommate was a fan and didn't talk to me for 2 weeks after I told her I didn't enjoy it.

I just finished The Song of Achilles for the second time and it was just as incredible as the first!! Really recommend it, especially if you're interested in/want to know more about Greek mythology but are intimidated by reading Homer's epics!

yikes that comment you included about the bell jar...very ignorant. on the other hand, i LOVED eleanor oliphant but i definitely had a hard time getting into it due to the pacing as you mentioned.

A really beautiful fantasy book I HIGHLY recommend is ‘Strange the Dreamer’. The world building and descriptive words creates the most beautiful imagery, I absolutely adore the book I’ve read it 5 million times! Another book I recommend, is a utopian sci-fi book about the future of the world and how it’s run by an AI that has basically saved humanity, but was built to have no jurisdiction over the life and death of humans; that job is left for humans themselves to figure out and so they create the Scythe to like kill people for the sake of population control..anyways let me not go into too much detail, but the book is called ‘Scythe’. I also started reading ‘everything I never told you’ because of one of your recommendations and I have to thank you. I love and appreciate that you took the time to recommend these amazing books to us, thxxxx❤️ p.s if your looking for a good autobiography to read I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, suggest ‘Born a crime’ by Trevor Noah, I personally listened to it on audible because he narrates his own story, which just make it 10x of a better read (literally my fav autobiography ever!)

2 books that I love and are on my highly rated list are Station Eleven and Good Morning, Midnight. Both amazing in their own way but both deal with a pandemic/catastrophic event that's happened and spread. Station Eleven is in my top 5 favorite books of all time. I think I've read it 5 times lol

I just finished reading Eleanor Oliphant and I loved it. I've had it since 2017 but I hadn't picked it up for some reason, until I saw one of your videos where you mention it. I totally understand why you didn't like it, specially after the comment about the bell jar (which I also really liked). I think it is still very useful to hear someone else's opinion in any matter, and I also think that now I can kind of take recommendations based on the books you didn't like, so I still get what I came her for. Don't worry so much about criticism, we can't all (and we shouldn't) like the same things.

I haven’t read Eleanor Oliphant in a while but I’m so sorry you have gotten hate for not enjoying a book. I liked the book but it is definitely overhyped and I understand your feelings about it. Also nothing quite makes my night like a notification of a new video from you!
