Smoke Colors

The color of the smoke from engine exhaust shows what's burning inside an engine. Do you have smoke? What color is it?

White smoke from the engine means there is an internal coolant leak somewhere making its way into the combustion chamber, and the smoke has a sweet odor. Usually head gaskets or cracked cylinder heads are at fault.

Blue smoke from the engine? Engine oil is being burned. Very stinky potent smell. Usually caused by worn internal engine components like cylinder rings, cylinder walls, leaking valve seals, or a stuck PCV valve.

Black smoke from the engine- fuel is being burned and is too rich in the mixture. Very sooty smelling. Usually a restriction in the intake system, leaking injector, or overall rich fuel system setting.

Just a slight correction. Coolant is water and youre not burning water in an engine. Youre burning the antifreeze, not the coolant. Otherwise, spot on!
Mint 👌

Coolant and Oil Smoke both ultra expensive internal fixes

White smoke doesn't always mean you're burning coolant. It could be your engine is flooded, cold start, a bunch of things. So go more into depth before all these youtube mechanics get the wrong idea here 😂
