A great way to get unique bottles is from bars. They have many amazing bottles that usually ends up in landfills. I've gotten blue, pink and gold bottles also ones with corks and hand blown glass bottles. They're always happy to set them aside and I come pick up a box of bottles!

Crucial lesson learned: don’t ever let hot glue and e6000 meet. It interacts with the bonding chemicals in e6000 and will eventually in the very short term - if not immediately - cause a bonding failure.

Great ideas for different lights. I just told my boyfriend last night that I am thinking about ordering from Amazon a bottle cutter. I saw a cool DYI show last night on how to make drinking glasses with bottles.

Also, this past 4th of July I put fairy lights into a vintage Ball jar that was blue and my fairy lights had different settings. When the grand finale started with the park near by fire work display I turned my fairyiggts into the fast mode. I took a video of it with the whistles and booms in the back and later put it on Instagram. I rec'd lots of cool compliments.
I am a beach but too and my bathroom is beachy and I am still unpacking, but I will have a beach for in the living room too so I definitely will make your beach themed jar. That you for wonderful inspirations,

Did you ever have problems with the hot glue melting in the sun? Here in TN it melts in the heat easily. HOW'D you get the lights in the bottle?
