Volvo XC60 SUV (2008-2013) review - CarBuyer

Think of the XC60 more as a raised family-sized estate car than a proper off-roader. It's practical, classy and very easy to drive. We're big fans of the comfortable ride and the great view you get from the high driving position. Offering neither the sporty, firm ride of the Audi Q5 or the rugged ability of the Land Rover Freelander, the XC60 falls somewhere in between -- and as such strikes a great balance for family buyers.

AWD doesn’t mean you are going mudding or rock climbing - as a former Subaru owner I always found AWD to be much safer in wet/gravel slippery conditions and that is worth the extra to me which is why I chose the AWD D5 XC 60. If I want a 4WD adventure vehicle I’ll buy a Toyota Land Cruiser. 😎

we still have 1991 volvo estate, and it still works,
in 20 years, this cars wont fall apart too, thats what i love about volvos

Just bought one of these & it's a dream. Very smart and intuitive.
Much better than the new Audi I had which had to have the engine replaced after owning it for 6 weeks supposedly due to a fault in the hose between the turbo and engine.
And even with the new engine (& lots of extra options thrown in to avoid court) it still consumed 1 litre of oil every 6 wks which I thought was unusual... until I met other Audi owners. So after 15mo (& a few more issues like the starter motor going) I traded up

I realy like the fact that you can fold the rear seat down completely flat (unlike a ix35 or a kia sportage, for example), plus you sit up high, it's easy to get in and out of it, and the quality and safety is great. realy good car.

BMW, Audi, Land Rover might make some really great car, but don't be that douche. Volvo XC60 is one of the safest cars on the road and you and your family's safety should be your highest priority. No other cars in this class have anything on that Volvo regarding safety. And that's what you pay for.

@MrMare94 My father has a 2006 XC90, my mother has a 2005 V50, and I have a 2004 S60R. They are great cars. You have made a great choice.

It will last much longer than the equivalent BMW or Audi - Lexus and Volvo hold their own when it comes to being good solid cars.. they define the word solid!

AWD is great. It doesn’t mean go out in snow blizzards tornadoes and mudding deep in the forest. It’s for you and the family to get safely to the ski lodge. Have fun. 😁

I think even Volvo marketed it as a sort of cross over as it is not as big as the XC90 but is larger than the old V70 XC

Wrong, my steering wheel has an option that changes your steering feel from high to low. Best feature to have!

Oh and I forgot I said this before too.
There is booster seats that is hooked on the car, just push on this button then pull on this lever thingy bellow the lever. After that, raise it up. thats how to put up the booster seats.
I don't wear booster seats anymore.

no...they do have the S80L which is exclusive for Mainland China market, and for the taxation reasons, the S80L is completely built in China rather than anywhere else
