Additional aspect to this lane change tip: if the AP system thinks your not holding the wheel before you start the manoeuver, even though you've indicated, the wheel will resist the lane change and the AP disengagement will be jerky. Instead, if you have your hand already on the wheel on a straight heading the moment before you start the lane change, then the disengagement is perfectly smooth. I.e AP doesn't care whether you have indicated or not, it just needs to sense your hand on the wheel before a lane change in order to make the disengagement smooth.

Good tip, looking forward to your video 🎉 Just a little fact about autopilot is that autopilot is using the older software of the code and not using the one in US for Full self driving( FSD ) which uses neutral networks to drive a car better than a person without coding. When the government in Australia allows FSD then we will get updated software for autopilot and other features with autopilot. Right now there are only little updates with autopilot and more with FSD for the US and Canada

Can you make a comparison chart of the different types of driving assistance available on the Tesla?

Doesn’t Autopilot change lanes for you just by signalling? Or is that just an FSD feature?

Hi Ryan, Please add Autopilot limitations for RHD vehicles, hopefully Elon will get the brief!
The following was observed using 2024.20.7:
1. Braking while overtaking a standard sedan. The vehicle I overtook, was centred in its lane, no reason to brake. Unfortunately this is not a rare event.
2. See if Tesla will provide a EAP demo for the review. If so:
2.1 Auto lane change can abruptly change its mind when changing from the right to left lanes next to a highway exit. (Appears to get confused with the white line marking change from unbroken to dashed).
3. Suggest you recommend:
3.1 Single pull resume option. Simple software change based on when autopilot was last engaged or perhaps provide a user selectable control next to the Single Pull AP slider that allows TACC to be automatically enabled if AP is cancelled.
3.2 Provide a wider berth when overtaking trucks. Current gap between Tesla and Truck is uncomfortably close.

Thanks Ryan, we all appreciate your great EV reviews and supporting videos!!!😊

If Auto pilot does something odd or needs improvement in areas of the drive, use voice commands to provide feedback to Tesla. Say "Report", "Feedback", or "Bug report" followed by brief comments. Tesla takes a snapshot of its systems, including your current location. If everyone does this it will help accelerate the software. At lease in Australia! Until we finally get wide release beta!
I constantly report “incorrect speed reading” as I hate being in a motorway going 80kmh and the car picks up a 50kmh side street.

Can AutoPilot be enabled/disabled with voice control?

Would love a breakdown of any settings or features you should set on an M3 Highland with just basic Autopilot (no EAP or FSD) to reduce driving fatigue

Can you talk about how you manage braking a red light while on autopilot? Or when the car isn’t slowing down fast enough to a stopped car in front

I'm yet to have my Model 3 arrive, but I'm interested to know how to transition from autopilot to stopping for traffic lights without going into full regen or lurching the brakes. Basically how to gently slow down from autopilot to an intersection for example.

And by the way, turning the light on will require less force to cancel the autosteer, great tips! But I want my FSD in Australia so badly!

I would love to understand the traffic light recommendations on FSD. I am confused by all the braking for green lights and I’m fighting with the accelerator constantly.

Turn on rainbow road when on autopilot. This makes it easy to identify when the car is on autopilot. Love your videos❤

My favorite is when on FSD if your car is not going fast enough just press the accelerator! FSD will not deactivate, the car will still turn and do everything for you it just goes a bit faster so you don’t annoy cars around you 👍🏻⭐️

Hey Ryan, I keep searching for Autopilot parking ability or limitations in very tight parking spaces. (I have a tight 90 degree turn into a tight garage) so something on this would be helpful

If autosteer is enabled, turning the turn signal on does not cancel autosteer.

What does auto pilot do exactly? I’m a new Tesla owner of a Y, 1 month in

You might consider letting the folks know about holding the gear stock down past the drive position for a couple of signs so that the car will match the speed on the road signs. This saves you from rolling the scroll wheel to bring down or bring up the speed. Regards Séamus from Dublin Ireland.
