Dune is a universe probably where few things can be gamefied unless you take a certain genre-be-damned position and understand the scope of the themes and story.
But here's a spitball,
Conversations and combat with other characters are played out by a cardgame mechanic which stylistically emphasizes the internal mind work of different factions of characters.
Slow paced planetary supply line management vs Harkonen/Choam/Sardaukar investigation.
Not familiar with later books but Imm getting there

When did “Survival” become synonymous with “Base-building”? The whole point of dune is surviving in the desert, in caves, on the surface, utilizing scarce resources. Not living in your mansion. This is unreal.
