As a big board game fan, I'm loving this series, Quill. It's nice to see your collection as you talk about various games.

Allow yourself more than 5 minutes to convince us! I'm sure you have lots more you could have said about the game, and I feel like more complex games are going to be very hard to cover in 5 minutes. Either way I'm super happy you're doing a board game series - looking forward to more!

A really fun way to play this game that my friends and I found is "7 Blunders" where you try to get the lowest possible score. It's actually a lot harder than you'd think, and it adds a new layer to the game if you've already played a few times.

It's a pretty nice game with good replayability. We played four games over three hours, including one long pause where we debated a rule. Everyone else already knew the rules (except the one in question), so I can't really speak to the ease of a group learning it from scratch, but I picked it up quickly. There's a ton of strategy. How do you try to get your points? Do you go for immediate points, or try to build up to something bigger? Take a worse building because it might give you a free one later? Do you take the best card for you right now, or try to stop your opponents? But it flows reasonably well, without a ton of waiting for someone else to think (which is the worst thing in most games).

I love how the science buildings and guilds and stuff work, how the points and bonuses stack based on what other stuff you have. And the wonders are great. You have to make some sacrifices sometimes. There's often a sense of excitement/foreboding as you strive for something uncertain. You don't get that in a ton of games.

If you like Seven Wonders you might like Race for the Galaxy, since both are kind of deck builder games. RfG has a neat feature, that the players have to decide, what actions will be taken in their turn (exploration, development, settling, consuming/trade or production). It is a bit hard to learn, but if you are familiar with the symbols, then you are set for infinite amont of fun.

Liking these vids as I'm interested in getting into board gaming.

One thing I'd say is to perhaps outline the victory conditions at the start of the video, it took me a few minutes before I worked out that you accrue victory points and realised that was how you won rather than being the first to complete your wonder.

The example of this I like is when describing chess to someone you would fist explain that the object is to trap the opponents king, rather than launching straight into talking about how the various pieces move around the board.

Keep it up though, I look forward to seeing more of these :)

Some suggestions...
Lords of Waterdeep, King of Tokyo/NY, Terra Mystica, Kemet, Twilight Struggle (which I think you'd love) and Cash n' Guns.
Actually, I think you'd love most of these.

Lords of Waterdeep - Worker Placement in a D&D setting.
King of Tokyo or New York - Dice rolling kaiju game
Terra Mystica - Euro style terraforming strategy game with a fantasy theme.
Kemet - Egyptian strategy game with 4X-ish elements.
Twilight Struggle - 2 player cold war 'take that' game.
Cash n' Guns - Party game where you rob banks, shoot other robbers and loot.

This one comes out all the time with the family. Easy to teach. I agree about the two player thing. If you are looking to play it mainly as 2 player it would probably be best to get 7 Wonders Duel for that purpose.

Me and my friend have 7wonders and 7wonders duel with expansions. It's amazing how quick and competitive this game can get.

I'm loving this series! Keep it up!

You could look at "Inis". It has the drafting as from 7 wonders but adds in a area-control/combat mechanic that makes a great game.

If you want to play 7 Wonders but only have two of you, get 7 Wonders: Duel. You can play 7 Wonders with 2 players, but Duel was especially designed for 2.

I highly recommend Terraforming Mars. It's been a favorite in our group this year.

Quill if you want a great board gaming community stop by London next time you're in the UK, there's a meetup group that meets in London pubs every evening and plays a ton of board game. Likewise we've got some great board game shops around. Oh and as for my personal suggestions, Key to the City, Diplomacy and Caylus are ones I'm a big fan of, though there's a ton more.

Betrayal at the House on the Hill is probably my favorite board game right now. If you don't have it I would highly recommend it.
