I've been listening to this man for more than 40 years. He never disappoints. His sense of rhythmic space and melodic "breath" is always startling. His variety of colour is genius. Not a note ever wasted for effect. A subtlety that can only come with age. In my mind the mark of true virtuosos - we know that at any moment they have the immense skill to explode as they did in their youth. But now they know the power of silence and the mystery of notes barely heard. I am not a musician, but I remember that in learning to become an actor he was my quiet tutor in internal pulse. The rise and fall of a phrase, it's place and intention.... and the physical repetition and practice it took to be effortless. Bravo, Sir.!

Uncle Al can rip it apart, and put it all back together again, no gimmicks, just great playing!!

Saw his interview with Rick Beato and he played this.. watching it now live… Jesus Christ… amazing…

Wow. Al. Only the hardest working and most assured players can captivate like this simply with an acoustic guitar. You can have all the talent in the world, but you won’t get to this level without hard work.

Saw him many many years ago with Return Forever in London will never forget it.

To think I saw/ met him over 40 years ago. He was incredible way back when, and just got better!

I saw this tour (sans Amit) and met Al at the soundcheck. Great guy and masterful performer. Huge props to Richie Morales as well.

Great! Countless interesting variations met at intervals by a return to the melodic theme. Who will play so wonderfully when time takes Di Meola from us?

Amazing, his duets with Paco, wow, but this is sooo good

His guitar is almost identical to my black Adamas guitar. Very narrow and highly radiused fretboard. It's not my best sounding guitar, but far and away the most playable. I wish Martin made one with a neck like that.
