Screamer returns in the form of a futuristic, story-driven racing game, featuring animated cutscenes created in collaboration with Japanese animation studio Polygon Pictures, and featuring the voice talent of Troy Baker. Screamer will be available on PS5 (PlayStation 5), Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026.

Combining plot themes of human will, revenge, love, and greed with classic sci-fi imagery, Screamer immerses players in the clash between personal desires and external forces that seek to control them. This journey unfolds through the eyes of a diverse cast of characters involved in a street racing tournament organized by a mysterious figure.

The original Screamer (released under the name of "Bleifuss" in Germany) was the second racing game I ever played on a PC (Test Drive II - The Duel being the first, and The Need For Speed being the third), and the first game I played on my then brand-new Pentium 60 Mhz computer; the game had a huge influence on me, and I used to play through it once every few years. Alister Brimble's soundtrack is nothing short of legendary, and I actually used to put the game CD in my boombox just to listen to the awesome music when I wasn't playing the game!

Needless to say, I am surprised to see this legendary IP name being revived. All I ask of you, Milestone, is this: Don't eff this up.
