We’re lucky if we get 4 days of work and they’re typically half days (4 hour days instead of 8). The economy is falling apart and it’s only going to get worse.

A lot of stuff that Home Depot sells can be bought on Amazon now. Even big stuff like lawn mowers and patio sets. And unlike Home Depot, it gets delivered to your doorstep for free. You don’t have to try to fit it in the trunk of your car. But I prefer to buy from local neighborhood hardware stores. Those are the best.

The food shift started almost two years ago. Sales were flat but non-essentials died one department after another. Then there were many new customers looking for Price. Then we noticed the restaurant type items, especially the bulk sizes, took off. Now it is working to a list for food and of course basic food tends to have low margin. So, the worst is yet to come.

A Regional Home Depot competitor, L L Flooring has declared bankruptcy and closing as they do not have sufficient funds to keep operating.
