"I should probably clean this"

"There, clean"

Ya know, it's just not a Ray video without the gentle clanging of an empty brake cleaner can skittering across the garage floor. Epic, as always.

You just started your business and you do not seem to be lacking for customers. This is a testimony to the confidence that people have in your diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair abilities. Not much else to say except keep up the good work. It's exciting to watch you succed.

I have a 2015 F 250 6.7 powerstroke. I have changed the fuel filters about 10 times. The frame filter soaked me once. Loosen it about 2-3 turns then drain it good. It will be practically empty. The frame filter is your first filter and the best place to check for gross contamination. The engine fuel filter receives filtered fuel and should show absolutely no sign of contamination. The frame filter housing is always hard to remove and, as you did, slow steady pressure on the ratchet will keep the plastic nut from breaking. I wash housing threads and lube with that electric grease prior to reinstallation

Sometimes if you leave the top filter off and then go down and do the bottom filter it's easier and the reason I say that is because it will reduce the amount of gravity pull " vacuum " on the tank and it will drain less fuel from the lower filter.

What I've seen is guys will leave the Upstream filter in line CONNECTED and then when they go to do the downstream filter every once in awhile it'll just keep draining fuel

so if you all the lines are off the Upstream filter first ( leave it off ) and then go Downstream under the truck your drain time is less and you don't get that siphon effect on the main fuel tank

Very carefully put the new filter in the fuel filter housing down low " the water separator housing " and lubricate the O-ring make sure it doesn't rotate or spin once the O-ring is set because it will suck in air around that O-ring and if that happens you'll have good fuel pressure to start " kinda truck will run but after 15 to 20 mph all of a sudden it'll feel like the truck starts breaking up and lack of not running correctly and that's because it's sucking air around that O-ring Downstream....and monitor fuel psi it'll be down to 40psi and it should stay around 65 - 75 psi

Then move Upstream in the engine bay and change that filter and just like you were doing in the video cycle the key three times leaving the key forward for up to 30 seconds each because that's how long that pump will run and it will fill the entire system and then start the truck

But either way as long as the job is done and the vehicle runs good that's all that matters but this is just how I do it because I see so many of these

Good Job buddy

Oh: never use aftermarket fuel filters on a Ford diesel it will not work out good for you in your favor unless it's a complete upfitted entire fuel filter housing kit from like Caterpillar or something like that

As a UK fan I'm always amazed at the engine sizes in USA. Most of our pick ups are now 2litre td with a couple 3.2 td. Most of the 4x4s are the same. VW, Audi, BMW and Merc have slightly bigger at maybe 4litre but I'm not aware of anything bigger. Couldn't afford a 6.6 at 10 bucks a gallon for diesel and only slightly cheaper for petrol.

Some advice from a former self employed mechanic, don't let those tools pile up. It takes will power to be discipline about keeping your tool put up and clean. If you don't that creates some unreal frustration and consumes time. It's so easy to get like this when you become self employed

Ray, I look forward to your videos they brighten up my day. I’ve checked lots of comments and I may have missed if anyone else has mentioned it but I noticed that the part number you read out for your GM filter wasn’t what was written on the box. It was very close. I love those little observation tests you throw in just to make sure we are paying attention.

I was hoping that you used your new filter extracting tools on your trucks filters

Nothing inspirers confidence in longevity better than plastic components on a Diesel engine.
