The fact that it's an island where people aren't allowed to fish just blows my mind.

First off, welcome to America! I hope more Americans find your channel and listen to how much we should appreciate what we have here.

it's difficult to eat fish in an island nation. Let that sink in for a minute

I’ve been going through all your shorts, and my eyes are welling with tears. One because I’m so happy for you. The second because as an American I take for granted what I have. It’s so easy to talk about everything that’s wrong. I’m going to visit your page any time I need a dose of humanity. Thank you. 🌞

Keep speaking the truth you two. As a Canadian i can say us first worlders have many benefits that people take for granted nowadays. Enjoy being American and i hope you can bring the rest of your family over one day. I should have got my green card when i worked in the US in the 90s as i would have moved there long ago.

In 2022, in America when I go to a grocery and see empty shelves I just think of Cuba and they suddenly look more full.

The appreciation for what we take for granted is very moving. You understand how his life here will be one of gratitude and contributions that many of us do not even think about having, or doing---giving back, you know? We just don't realize so much....

So sad, Yoel. My heart breaks for the Cuban people and the hardships that they endure. So glad you guys are here.
We definitely take things for granted in the U.S. and complain about any supply chain delays or other inconveniences. I keep a little extra food, etc just in case of shortages, emergency, etc.
The parents of one of my best friends spent time in Cuba (honeymoon, I believe) before Communism made it impossible to visit. They said they loved it. I had Cuban neighbors when I was about 12-18 yrs old living in the Calallen area of Corpus Christi, TX. Last name sounded like Gwok-uh-chay-uh and I just loved Toni and Pasqual.
I also know the family of our State Rep. Ted Cruz left Cuba because of the Communist takeover. I've been tempted to tell him to chk your channel out because he would absolutely love it. Praying for the freedom of the Cuban people someday soon. Thanks for sharing, Yoel. Much love to you and Mari.

Love you and Mari so much! I can’t wait for your family to be able to come here. You are a wonderful ambassador to your country. Happiness and love to you and everyone you know!❤️ we have no idea what it is like to suffer. And I hope Cuba can become free and have all the luxuries that we enjoy.

YOEL Thank you for talking about your experiences in Cuba, it helped me understand how things are in Cuba, the shortage of everyday items. We in the US saw some of this in the beginning of the pandemic, but to live like that for years is truly eye opening. I hope that you are able to get help for family in Cuba. I see how amazed that you are by your new adventures and experiences here, I hope someday you can share them with others in Cuba.

Please take Yoel to a place that serves seafood dishes. I want to see his reaction to trying salmon, rainbow trout, etc. Please and thanks. 🙂

This is the sort of stuff I’d love to see on your regular videos too! It’s so interesting. I know you sometimes do mention it but I’d love more detail and a bigger comparison. This is what makes your channel so unique!

You should also consider doing reaction videos to other people’s videos.

The few videos that I have seen, watching Yoel appreciate things we take as normal everyday experiences, makes me appreciate things a lil bit more.

Welcome to America Yoel. Thank you for sharing. Be blessed.

I've learned more from your videos and videos like yours than from school or news. Thanks for keeping it real and for being an example of what it means to be American
