How to make kinetic sand 🏜️

Here at Speckles, we love promoting sensory play... especially during patch time! 🙌

By keeping the hands engaged in simple, motor movements, like building a sandcastle 🏜️ a child is able to “tune out” distracting lights, sounds, smells and movement, enabling them to focus on the task at hand. It helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.

To make this kinetic sand, all you need is
2 cups of sand
1 1/4 cups of plain flour
1/4 cup of oil *add more if you want stronger sand.

Mix them together and create your own sensory beach bin with seashells, toys and rocks.
