"Stupid Cupid" is a song written by Howard Greenfield and Neil Sedaka which became a hit for Connie Francis in 1958.
Francis cut "Stupid Cupid" on 18 June 1958 at Metropolitan Studio (NYC); LeRoy Holmes conducted the orchestra while Morty Kraft produced the session. "Stupid Cupid" provided a reasonably strong comeback vehicle for Francis reaching the Top 15 that August with a Billboard Hot 100 peak of #14.
In the UK Singles Chart Francis had made more chart impact than in the US with both "Who's Sorry Now?" (No. 1) and "I'm Sorry I Made You Cry" (No. 11). This trend continued with "Stupid Cupid" which, as a double sided hit with "Carolina Moon", spent six weeks at No. 1. Francis would remain a potent UK chart force for the next four years with fifteen Top Twenty singles, eight of them Top Ten, but she would never again reach the top of the UK Singles Chart despite topping the US charts three times in the early 1960s. Georgy Porgy’s Favourites Uploaded: Connie Francis - Stupid Cupid 💘 (1958)
Connie Francis was an icon from the ‘50’s . I actually don’t know much about her but I know this one song 🎧 Stupid Cupid typifies her quirky but superb 🎤 singing.
You’ve done her proud as your depiction of this song implies.
❤ Love hearts everywhere as well as the Cupid 💘 with his bow and arrows.
This reminds me of the Rock ‘n Roll era. Bopping around the dance 💃 floor.
I actually enjoyed reminiscing to this song trying to capture her quirky voice. A lovely trip down Memory Lane.
You’ve done her justice.
I don’t know where you go from here except forward onto your next favourite.
