Ep. 142 ~ Join us on our latest sailing adventure to Hydra, Greece, where we navigate the stunning blue waters of the Saronic Gulf, only to be met with charter boat mayhem! With inexperienced sailors struggling to dock or anchor in Hydra’s tiny, bustling harbor, we decide to sail west to Ermioni, a peaceful anchorage on the mainland. From there, we hop on a Greek ferry to explore the charming and historic island of Hydra—a destination known for its art, donkeys (the only mode of transport!), and breathtaking stone architecture.*
While in Hydra, we watch a mix of luxury mega yachts and clueless charter boats attempt to dock, leading to some hilarious, nerve-wracking, and downright ridiculous moments. Meanwhile, our own sailing adventure isn’t without its challenges—our anchor chain counter malfunctions when the magnet falls out, forcing us to guesstimate our chain length while anchoring in Ermioni. Now, the hunt is on to find a replacement magnet!
