Chocolate school cake! Easy tutorial

*Ingredients*
For the cake:
170g margarine/butter, softened
170g caster sugar
150g self raising flour
20g cocoa powder
3 large eggs
2tbsp milk

For the icing:
170g icing sugar
15g cocoa powder
2-3tbsp boiling water

For the topping:
Chocolate sprinkles

1) Preheat your oven to 170°C/ Gas Mark 3½/ 150°C (fan)

2) Line an 8x8" baking tin with baking paper.

3) In a large bowl whisk together your butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4) Add the flour, cocoa powder, eggs and milk, then whisk until smooth.

5) Scoop the mix into your baking tin and smooth it out.

6) Bake for 30-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

7) Let it cool.

8) To make the icing mix together the icing sugar, cocoa powder, and water until smooth.

9) Pour the icing over the cake and smooth it out gently.

10) Top with chocolate sprinkles.

11) Enjoy!

I made it in a 7 and a half inch tin ( round) and it came out wonderfully. It grew to 2 and a half inches tall absolutely beautifully and bouncy yet stable and moist but not to the point of melting. I loved it. I also thought it's a perfect base for any frosting or on its own with custard or cream. Can't thank you enough❤

Huh, that looked so much like something we have here (it must exist elsewhere to though), and the recipe looked very much the same, but the one I thought it was at first has a little cold coffee in the icing. It has so many names here but for simplizity I'll write the one that should be the same in English, "mocha squares". (For me they will always be "kärleksmums" though)
But will try this one for sure, since I rarely ever have coffee at home, and it looks just as good 😍
