Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Game Review

I'm looking forward to the stage where all the "harry" storyline is gone and someone comes along and makes a game where you can create your own character and live in hogwarts. Games based on films tend not to work since dragging and hour and a half to thirty hours is fairly tough. We need a whole new storyline that was origanally created just for the game itself.

It's amazing how a lot of older men in media outlets were honest about their excitement of minors becoming adults back in the 2000's.

Though it could be a lot better, it's still a fun game.

What I would like to see in a Harry Potter game would be a Bully-esque game, using this engine, character models and environments that follows the plot of the book (including scenes not in the film) through missions while featuring minigames in the form of classes set to a timetable. Completing certain classes at certain levels would allow you to have access to more skills to use in missions or free-roam, so it would be beneficial to attend classes instead of just charging through the missions.

It was also nice to see some variety in the uniform styles of the NPCs in this game versus the sea of grey from the previous game.

My favorite thing in this game is potions. I've always loved alchemy in video games, and if this sort of potion-making was in an RPG or MMO, I would love it.

What I loved the most in those games was collecting the beans, the cards and looking for hidden places in and around the castle. I feel a little sad that the later games kind of lost all of that. The latest game especially, it kind of lost track of the actual storyline and just focusses on the fighting. I think the games would all be great if they all had the same style, where you could actually play Harry and play through the movie.

Is it just me or would a red dead redemption sort of game set in the Harry Potter Universe be amazing. You wouldn't play as harry potter, but a completely different story arc and you could create your own characters and even have a free roam online mode where you can duel with others or take out dementors and death-eaters and do all the harry potter mini games like wizard chess and things! Sort of like an action packed harry potter mmorpg!

I love harry potter but they should make a game where you are your own wizard and you make your own life. Kind of like an oblivion game just immersed into harry potter's world. You could be dark or good or just a common folk. They need to make it so you can be as powerful as dumbledore and as measley as peter pettigrew and you find out your are an animagus and things like that and you can choose to be like hagrid or a troll at gringotts

Anyone think they should make an RPG version of this game where you create your own character and customize your character. And make choices with a new story for your character to be good or bad. I think that would be good and you still follow the day to day of your character.

@SuperXD25 I don' even wanna talk about Goblet of Fire...
Anyway, HBP wasn't a bad game, but it was somewhat too nothing. All I did was duel, make potions and play Quidditch. Other than that I was just running around and casting stuff to make shields appear.

I was thinking of that I prefer it to be a third person perspective and you can bond with the students, make ally, able to fight with the teachers and have a great storyline.And also being able to create our own character and powers!!!!

@RPGaddictC okay well thats pretty low apparently. On amazon when I looked at them they were about 15 bucks each I think. I just got done playing both of them since I kinda was wanting to play them now after talking about them. It was okay. I almost got a 100% completion. However I didn't want to go though the whole thing at times just to get 100% but I did at least get all the silver and gold thingys in the second game. And all except 1 of the bronze.

I would like a Game where you can create your own character. Choose what house they will be in. Choose your friends. What side your on. Date whatever ever character and everything. Like a Harry Potter RPG or a Simes game but you actually understand what they are saying.

@SimplyxJoe94 it would work well as a MMORPG as well, you could team up with people to go into areas where students are not supposed to go, and fight against monsters, etc.
earn more stuff to get better equipments and spells.
perhaps some PVP Dueling too

eh, not really. I can really agree with ign because the gameplay in Prototype can get rather confusing and monotinous. You have to do weird button combinations to do the desired move and remembering them can become a chore. Its a fun game. But some things bog down the level of intensity you usually get when playing other games like inFAMOUS, Red Faction, and even Spiderman Web Of Shadows.

I thought PoA was alright, but my favorite so far was the 2nd. It took me days to get through it, and there were puzzles and all that fun stuff. The rest of the games have taken be mere hours and were almost too easy to enjoy

That would be cool like your a new student in the school. To bad they keep the game based (even though very loosely) on the books. If this game series would have start off as a video game it would have been way better. Like a fable or something.
