Even with this video being 10 years old. This was the only video I could find in 2 days that did the trick. Thank you so much!!!

A short term fix for me was to startup in diagnostic mode (cmd + d) and simply test the memory hardware. The KPs stop but occasionally come back. If this is like your situation you likely have a software issue

Skylar,

Thank you for the great advice!

I've been having trouble with my MacBookPro crashing for a few weeks now. I thought it might be the power cord or the battery. After following your advice I did as you suggested and my machine is running as if it were new again.

Thanks Dude, U Da Man!

This did not fix my macbook pro.  It still continues to shut down then goes to log in screen and about 10 seconds later does the exact same thing then after that it may or may not let you get on for a little while.  Any ideas?  Thank you

The progress bar is progressing extremely slowly. It's taken around 20 minutes to get from the left edge of the apple logo to almost the middle. I'm going to go make dinner...

When I came back after dinner, the reboot had completed, and it was in Safe Mode, as indicated in red in the upper right corner. So aside from the disconcerting length of time, not mentioned in the video, the procedure appears to have worked. As for whether it reduces crashing, we'll never know, because I'm going to repair disk permissions too. Clean it right up.

Hi everyone, eHow tuts totally suck. But anyhoo, my iMac (27-inch, Late 2012) began randomly shutting down several times a day. I found thru trial and error that when I removed all external hard drives it stopped happening. So I now only plug in my external drives when I need to transfer things across or to access files. At night I also shut down my iMac and pull and leave the power cord unplugged overnight. Not ideal but no more random shut downs. Not sure if I will be buying another Mac though, as I have been through 2 Macs that have failed from faulty hardware. My PC hardware on the other hand still runs like new.

My early 2015 MacBook Pro 13" with OS X Sierra keeps booting up randomly non stop without succeeding. I did all tests, and it shows no errors. Does anyone have a fix for it?
