For meat, we've also used turkey, goat stew, ground beef or elk instead of chicken. All depending what we have on hand. And when we don't want to use the lentil mix we, use red or green lentils, or even split peas instead. That's what makes this soup so great - it's so flexible and turns out tasty!

love home made soups, you can just about use anything, favourit is leek and potato with a dribble of cream on top or Muligatawny soup (beef Curry soup with rice in), love lentils as well and veg soup

Thank you for sharing. Just a couple questions. What is in the lentil mix and if possible a rough estimate of each. Also why did you use apple cider vinegar to soak the beans? I’ve always used baking soda and I’m intrigued by the use of vinegar. Thank you dear.

You say lentil soup but where is the lentil, I guess it's different from us. Maybe it's not lentil peas you are using, and certainly not provisions
