I can’t speak for other Celtic areas, but in the Wild Gael part of Ireland (the mountains of Munster) we kept oral histories for ages and then when the churches came. My family was filled with Druids before it was filled with priests. And legend has it, the first Druids that joined the monasteries and changed their title from “Druid” to “Preist” did so not because they had abandoned the ways of their ancestors, but because they believe that Jesus was the chief Druid. That is why, particularly in Ireland, the myths are not Christian. Jesus completed the path - he did not replace it. Some of them have versions with Christian elements blended in. But the Priests remained Druid at heart and recorded with accuracy the oral traditions they and their ancestors had passed down for ages.

Or so legend says.

It may even be the case that the myths became firmer and more accurate after they were written down, because you no longer had to rely on the occasionally imperfect memory of man.

How long exactly did it take for Christianity to actually set in good, though? 🤔

I also found myths from elsewhere in celtic myths like indus beliefs and greek and roman and Persian etc archeological record points to Hinduism mixed with varieties of myths in pre Christian times however some charaters are made up by Christians as well

Hey. I sent a text on messenger about doing an interview. Just incase you missed it. It's under William Morton.
Thanks. I'll leave it there. Best wishes...

The original first testament was written in Greek in the 3rd century BC.
The Irish mythos comes from Ionian Greeks which was recorded. This is after the Phoenician’s tin trading

Gotta find the young girl. The oracle maker was a young girl. This is ancient. They bury the living dead girl.
It’s part of the Mystery

The myths have very deep Christian symbolism, and they fit into the Biblical paradigm, even though not explicitly Christian.

They are pre Christian in the sense that they're indigenous in origin and not biblical aka Jewish.
