iPhone 5 to iPhone 5 Logic Board Swap

Показать описание
We swapped logic boards in two iPhone 5's. One iPhone was beyond repair (black 32 GB from Verizon) but included a fully functioning logic board. The other phone was in excellent condition (white 32 GB from AT&T) but would not turn on or charge due to a damaged logic board.
Black iPhone 5 - 32 GB from Verizon:
This phone had a smashed screen, broken buttons, and a bent frame. The only part that was undamaged was the logic board. Getting to the logic board was a challenge due to the various glass shards and difficult frame. This worked out because we had another iPhone 5 with a damaged logic board.
White iPhone 5 - 32GB from AT&T:
This phone had one major problem. The logic board was damaged at some point rendering the phone useless. Opening this phone was easing using an iSclack (suction cup tool) and plastic spudgers. The screen, battery, buttons, and frame were in great condition.
The logic board swap took about 1.5 hours to carefully take both phones apart and replace the faulty parts with working ones. Less time would have been spent if both phones were undamaged (primarily the screen). With the screen smashed I was unable to use a suction cup to remove the screens. I used plastic spudgers form iFIxit to pry the screen out of the frame. A heat gun was used to remove the batteries (glued in) from Apple. I followed the iFixit guide through the entire process.
Tools Used:
Pro Tech Tool Kit from iFixit
Illuminated Magnifying Table Lamp from iFixit
Heat Gun from iFixit
Portable Anti-Static Mat from iFixit
iSclack from iFixit
