Is NHL 25 HUT's First Content a Massive Letdown?

NHL 25 is an ice hockey simulation video game developed by EA Vancouver and published by @EASPORTSNHL
I stream NHL on Twitch including HUT Gameplay, Pack openings, and Franchise mode including season simulation and player / team creation.
I love to create content involving IIHF Womens National team players and utilizing
female professional hockey players in my Hockey Ultimate Team.

I got to say I am extremely disappointed with HUT this year. I am a mix between FTP and PTP. The packs are not even attractive in the store and they don't yield anything of use. I can not understand why they keep flooding everyone with Bronze cards which do nothing, and all icons. None of it makes sense.

Excluding the XP path I'm willing to give it a shot.
Althought they MUST find a way to balance our pack openings, for most of us the joy of opening packs is a big part of playing HUT. Right now they've fugged us on it..
Best way in my opinion: Patch in weekly rewards in squads and rivals on top of the current rewards. I might just switch over and play EASHL instead unless they give us something. If they've only let packs return in milestones that could do something at least...

I really hope the creators listen to you (the content creators) who are actually interacting with the player base and fix this issue. Yes they might give us so many players and I'm trying to look upon this with positivity and think that they are giving us quality over quantity this year. Instead of thousands of players that will be in the stash we get usable quality players.. but they should do a hybrid of both this year.

It makes me so sick I loved last year where you could get weekly rewards biggest L ea has done upon others they should’ve put that on top of weekly rewards but your not overreacting I feel so underwhelmed and upset feel we should be screaming from the rooftops so they might hear us but yeah hut looks horrible this year (also keep up the good work appreciate your content)

You know the state of the game is sad when Wildcard is looking like the best mode out there in terms of rewards.

We all paid for the game up front so technically there is no such thing as a true free to play players here. Turning a $60-$100 game into a freemium pay to play game is disgusting and EA should be ashamed of themselves. At least the mobile games that do this are free up front.

Idea behind reward structure was good. But like said rewards are absolutely horrendous and that 55 days is worst joke EA has ever made. I have been playing since 08 every year and past years EA has disappointed many times but this was beyond any nightmare I could think. They really trying to kill the game. PS thx for not give a second for promoting those criminal packs.

This is only my opinion, but by people not spending coins in packs, and not opening them, will keep the market as it is now, high demand low supply for 75-80 overall cards.
But the XP tree is a little joke, so far nothing good has been pulled by me, I am half whey in wildcards, and the wildcard packs are a joke that has bronze and 74 and lower players. Feel cheated. Some one, except EA, should start making Hockey games. If there was a Live HUT type game which only had updates and patches i would jump on that so fast.

The nhl players boost pack from xp season. The reward for tier 5. I pulled a mckinnon. HUGE. and so unexpected. Usually those packs are not great.

They need to tweek the wildcard mode but I think the purpose of that mode is for people who DONT LOG IN EVERYDAY. As soon as I started to get middle of the reward path I started getting matched with bots to control how much I level up. There really is no such thing as free to play. Not if you like playing alot....Been that way for me for 7 years . I wont buy packs anymore bc I do not like game rigging and EA tactics.
I hated rivals and hated squad battles. I hate long grinds to get a decend card. If I spend money I want to buy specific cards not random packs....but EA has ripped me off so I will not spend money outside the game now. I would not have bought standard version this year but it was only bc of new mode. Next year same thing. New mode and changes to BAP or I wont buy.

Lets be honest, hut was never good. Most players with families, full time job and other things to do can now finally complete all matches. Prices of the packs also make it better because not every child can now buy the packs for real money.
But EA business model has changed a lot, their shares are hitting highs so what happens with gameplay doesnt really matter to them. All they need to do is put some show and bit of acting when presenting the games, introduce new and improved technologies which convinces consumers and also investors. Yet there is no real difference between this year or nhl 21. In last 1 year EA stocks are up by 16%, in last 5 years its up by ~51% compared to for example take two (which owns 2k games) 7% and 23% for last 5 years. The only company which could actually compete with ea puts all resources into other games so no wonder that ea can do whatever they want with nhl.
This year they removed rush and gave us wild card which is the same as rush.
Issues with this game are the physics, poke checks dont connect not even with the opponents sticks, you can still skate through opponents sticks if the opponent has the puck without them loosing any control. Goalies are crap, wrist shots from the blue go in more often than from in front of the net.... we should also be able to change strategies and players positioning however we want instead of using their preset ones.

I diddnt buy nhl25 after playing nhl24 for 800 hours. I knew HUT was going to be a let down, nhl24 content for hut was simply way too good
