From the Philippines to the Battlefields of Korea

The Filipino soldiers who served in the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea during the Korean War exhibited incredible bravery and courage. Despite the odds, they displayed gallantry on the battlefield, earning the nickname "Kings of the Hill" from several UN soldiers. They played a key role in the Battle of Yultong, which was one of the deadliest battles in the Korean War. The United States awarded the Philippine contingent a Presidential Unit Citation in recognition of their valor and gallantry.
