If you love nature you should visit Cascate di Acquafraggia e Val di Mello, one of the most beautiful alpine valleys. Both places are situated over the lake, about 30 km far from Colico.

I really like Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands (and the nearby little towns on the Piedmont-ese shore) within it. I've been to lake Como, I liked it, would like to go again, but I still prefer the quieter (for now) and maybe more "focused" Maggiore over it. Lake Como definitely worths the trip and all the positive feedback, but not the obsession some media have for it.

No other place on earth like lake Como... we also loved lago Maggiore... Italian lakes a stunning... the secret is out though! Darn it 😅

Lake Como is beautiful. Lake Garda is stunning. I hope you can try Lake Iseo one day. It’s a lot more rustic, but it’s gorgeous and incredibly charming. Lovere and Monte Isola in particular are magical xx

You never mentioned the name of a city you are in - which seems to be Varenna. But Varenna is mainly crowded because it is a main tourist hub - every hour full trains from Milan brings tourists there. Train is better than the car ride to the lake - it takes only 1 hour from Milan and cost just 7 EUR. I suggest come to Varenna early, buy your tickets online, skip Bellagio - as it is the main and most crowded city on the lake, but your impression of it will always be ruined by the crowds. Choose some distant city, as Lenno for example, as your starting point, and then just travel "back" to Varenna - that what we did in July, having really perfect day on the lake - meeting crowds only on the ferries.

Varenna ha circa 800 abitanti, se arrivano 10, 20.000 turisti in un giorno è un problema.l tuo video è interessante.anche la parte più a nord del lago è molto bella ma meno famosa, iniziano le Alpi, le montagne sono più alte e spettacolari, bianche di neve in inverno.una frana ha bloccato i treni e la strada molto vicino a Varenna ed ha chiaramente aumentato il caos.
