Have I been scammed? A look inside this '1080p' LED projector.

This projector is advertised as a 3000 Lumen 1080P LED Projector. In realitiy it is 48 lumen and 240p. Just a typical White Van Scam product.

In this video I'll demonstrate it using 720p input and take it apart to see what's inside.

whenever these cheap projectors say 1080p what they really mean is that they will accept a 1080p input but usually dumb it down to 480 or 800 x 400

YES! it needs all that cooling.. and be glade it has it.. most new devices are not properly cooled, thereby giving them a predicted fail rate... I have a RoKu box.. strapped old heat sink to case after noticing it so hot.. it helped big time... same box for 4 years now.. yet i see so many online of same model Refurb's. I have seen many "insides" of electronics all my life...(47yrs now), and most fail due to heat issues and in my humble opinion, causing you the get a new one every so often. WiFi chips burn out.. all the time. yet most devices now depend on them.. no more cables.... wide open security probs to boot. p.s. most devices can have the Adapter replaced, laptops for sure.

Buddy please next time you do this. Open a case with EBay. The description is inaccurate and EBay will help you get your money back! Have been in this type of case before. Never give up man!

i have exactly the same one but the New Zealand power adapter is way less quality than the one on the video . Mine overheats and shuts off after one hour max in cold conditions, any tips m8 ? Should i use another power adapter ? if so how specific do i need to be about the adapter? help cant even watch a full movie on it .

320x240 is CGA Resolution. Full 1080P would be 1920x1080. Yes you did get scammed!

Next time if you want a projector, go with a name brand (Epson, InFocus, Christie, Panasonic, Optoma, BenQ, LG, Casio, Sharp, HP, etc). Never buy a projector out of the back of a van, either. If you have never heard of a brand someone is offering you, next time Google it and see if it is good or a scam before buying.

To get some serious use of the white van projector you got at its native resolution, you might have success with very old computers (Commodore, Apple II, IBM CGA) or older arcade games. It might look good with those signals.

How to save ebay fees? Sell voor a low prijs and took money over the shipping cost. :D Power Supply which means China Export, but for me as ham adio operator, hat this power supply cause of lot of rfi on all bands :D
