The coolest part is that she's reviving practices that have been around across the world for centuries.. actually for millennia in one form or another!

The clove oil is an antifungal agent that will keep your paints from becoming moldy. Very important, especially when you use all natural ingredients like honey which are prone to mold. 😊👍 Thanks for sharing! 🙏😊

Do I paint? No. Do I still have the urge to make the watercolor binder liquid? Yes. 😂

I know this video is a year old, but I was talking to my dad today & I told him about your paint-making.
I promised to send him your video about how to make binder, coz he loves buying dollar store eyeshadow to draw with.
I also sent him your paint-mulling video.

Hopefully, he'll be inspired to create again. 💖 He's the most talented artist I know.

What you need to make watercolor binder:
Container
Measuring tool
Funnel
Mixing tool
Gum Arabic powder
Distilled water (water thats been boiled to get rid of impurities)
Vegetable glycerin (makes paint glossy)
Optional: honey, and few drops of clove oil
Recipe:
Measure half a cup of gum Arabic powder
About a cup of hot distilled water
Mix together for little bit (clumps won’t dissolve right away)
About a tablespoon of vegetable glycerin (helps paint looks less chalky if dealing with powdery pigment) (other option: honey)
About half a tablespoon of honey (might help paint re-wet better)
Couple drops of clover oil (apparently helps to last longer and smell nice)
After mixing gum Arabic you want it to turn into a sap
Leave alone for half an hour so it cool and dissolve
After about 30 minutes should be little thicker than water
Put lid on and put in fridge
Keep in fridge when not in using because it could mold
Tends to last about 1-2 months depending on the care
You can keep bits of paint binder out at a time
Squeeze bottle makes it easier to apply to the paint
Now you have a watercolor paint binder that you can use to make paint out of almost anything
This is what I’ve learned

I got so much old eye shadow lying around which I probably shouldn't use anymore, but feels real real wasteful to just throw out, so I think I want to put this on my try- out - list thanks for sharing your recipe 😊❤

Heres a tip it might work: some powders clump up when are added to hot water so suggest to first mix the gum Arabic powder with just a little bit of room temperature water mix it and then mix that mixture into hot water it might work again just suggesting

I do have a question, you said the solution can go moldy so would the watercolor paint after get moldy? BTW loved the video and subscribed! 💕

What kind of powders do you use to get a matte color? I've been looking for matte ones and all I've been able to find are pearlescent, metallic, and shimmery ones. Idk if it's just I don't know what to look for or I'm not looking in the right places😅

Hi awesome video. so if I wanted to make a watercolor-based Glitter Craft Gel paint would that be the same process? I am tired of spending 15 or more on some that others make
