Disney RESPONDS to Stopping ALL Spin-Off Movies - Star Wars Explained

In recent events, Disney was rumoured to pause the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, and while this may be true, they have gone to ABC News (which they own) to say that they haven't paused anything due to the low box office of Solo: a Star Wars Story. They confirm that many Star Wars movies are still in production behind the scenes, many which haven't been announced as of yet.
The internet went to say that they are stopping the Obi-Wan movie to punish fans for boycotting Solo, which just isn't true. If any pause is happening, it's to make sure they focus on episode 9 full force, to complete the Skywalker saga. I'm all for that. We can wait for any anthology films, so long as everything is done withe the utmost of care, which I'm sure it will!

Don't believe the rumours! The spin off films, as Disney confirms, aren't on hold due to Solo failing, if they indeed are (which may very well be true...) it's moreso due to them needing more of a focal effort on Episode 9 to finish the Skywalker saga with a bang.

I have to disagree. Those in charge of lucasfilm have shown time and again that their main goal is not profit but virtue signaling.

The only reason Solo bombed was because we're just sick of this SJW agenda Kathleen Kennedy is pushing.

It’s their fault that solo didn’t do as well financially as they anticipated. They didn’t hype up the movie, no one asked for the movie, it had a NEW Han Solo that WASNT Harrison Ford, and the last Jedi sucked ass (at least in the minds of most star wats fans like myself). What gives people motivation to see the film when barely anyone even saw a trailer? And with all of the other negatives I just listed above. I personally saw the movie, because I am a hardcore Star Wars fan and I just kinda have to go see them all. Was I hyped? No. Did I even want them to make it? No. Did I even think the film would be good? Absolutely not. Realistically though, after seeing the film I actually did enjoy it. It was funny, Alden Ehrenreich didn’t do bad as Han, and the story was pretty decent. And I LOVED the cameo at the very end. If see the movie again just for the cameo. But the issue was just that people had no faith in it. If this is the reason other spin off movies (like kenobi) are put on hold, that’s pathetic and it’s their own damn fault. Of course more people are gonna see a kenobi movie with ewan McGee for playing obiwan, that’ll be awesome to see. No reason to put it on hold. If they’re gonna take more time with kenobi, it BETTER be fucking incredible. Also #remakeTLJ look it up

I honestly thought the Last Jedi was ‘fine’. I hated how they portrayed Luke and how they didn’t develop any of the new characters. But seeing how negatively Lucasfilm employees responded to the fans because they didn’t like TLJ is just pathetic. Calling them ‘sexist’ and ‘racist bigots’. I’m defiantly not going to see any future Star Wars films until they do sometime about it. Fans are the reason they are making (now losing) money
