I regularly order parts from FCP. I was unaware of the change in their warranty program, so I'm glad I came across your video. Even with the change, I still think FCP is a good option for the DIYer. Great video. Very informative. Thank you for posting.

Had no idea about this policy change. Also didn’t know it applied to oil and filters. I’ll still use FCP. They have great customer support and great prices on most things I have purchased from them.

Thank you for posting this clear concise explanation of the changes in the FCP Euro “Lifetime” warranty. I was unaware changes has been made.
Good to know, however FCP has done right by me on parts and are my go-to provider for my Audi and my Mini.
Solid pricing, good brands - some parts offer a good, better, best selection so there are some savings to be found.
FCP will remain my first stop for parts.

I also wanted to point out that "On orders placed before 11/01/2022, the original Lifetime Replacement Guarantee policy will still be in effect. Those returns will default to credit but can be converted to cash refunds on request by contacting them.

As a business owner it seems crazy to have offer free exchange for thing like worn out brake pads as you can’t return those to suppliers for any credit so you’d just have to wear the loss which is madness.

I thought they were completely cancelling it, but this is super reasonable!

Thanks for the heads up! As a mobile mechanic I mainly use FCP due to the lifetime warranty and don't mind paying the extra for that. As a business if I need to replace a part under warranty, getting a refund on a replacement is absolutely necessary especially if I'm warranting the part. They do have GREAT customer service though, but this change isn't good for businesses that give them revenue every month.

It still works very well for me; it makes it the cheapest oil change I've ever had out of over 30 years of car ownership and that's for a BMW too using seven premium quarts. WITH paying the return shipping (that I get a discount for with UPS) for the old stuff to ship back plus my gas cost for the 2 miles to drop it off to the shipper; it's less than 100 bucks per 12 months for me to do... And I can pull the drain plug and swap the filter without even going under it.

That business model was never gonna last

Hmm - last month my drive belt snapped and they adjusted the price with the new one I bought. Maybe I got off because it was less than $50

I recently learned about something with their lifetime warranty I don’t like: you cannot buy an upgraded part to warranty a lower quality part. For example: I bought a Nissens condenser. When I needed to make a warranty claim on it, I wanted the (more expensive) CSF condenser. I understand I would still have to pay the difference out of pocket but FCP Euro told me I could only make the claim if I bought another Nissens condenser. I bought the CSF condenser anyway. It was only like $10 more.

Store credit is fine! I see nothing wrong as I always buy from FCP.

This is madness, how does it make any sense?!
I'm suprised it lasted that long, crazy.
I think it's a good change i could not imagine how big impact it had to have to have that kind of policy at your store.

But the store credit would not be tied to a specific part though right? Could you use the store credit to purchase a different part you may need?

Thank you for the video. If you look under his BMW its leaking oil everywhere.

This is the second time to watch your video. I can see your point about considering, “how long are going to keep your car?”. Since I’m pretty invested in general maintenance items, I’ll probably continue to buy from FCP. Depending on the difference of high ticket items, may have to consider other options. Very valuable information. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. 😊

Glad I saw your video. It explains how I got a credit. unfortunately I didn't realize that before giving them my credit card again.
