Effects legend Steve Wang introduces us to his 1:1 replica of the original T-Rex animatronic head that was created for the main road attack sequence in Jurassic Park! Steve explains how his team was able to scan the surviving original larger-than-life animatronic prop and cast for this paint master prototype, which took three weeks to assemble and paint. Check out the glass eyes on this creature, which were 3D-printed in full color!

My old man sold a Harley Davidson to the late & great Stan Winston & upon conversation about how much I loved Sci fi movies, I actually got to take a tour of Stan Winston's Creature shop! (Something thats not open to the public due to confidentiality issues with new movies being made) I had to sign a waiver/contract saying I wouldn't talk about any pre production / production projects I saw while touring his shop, and I got to see all the archived things Stan made from the T800 to the Predator & Aliens as well as the T Rex head! (This was back in 1994') it was a truly memorable experience!

Wow. You really look at that and WANT to touch it so bad. The texture is incredible. And the eyes are so lifelike, you feel like you can shine a light and see the pupils contract.

Incredible artistry. I remember being so blown away by the original Jurassic Park, those dinosaurs looked absolutely real.

Steve Wang did paint job on original 1987 Predator. He worked for Stan Winston.

Steve Wang is one of my favourite artists. Check out his work, it's insane. From Predator to Guyver and everything inbetween. He's also directed some cool films.

Villain huh?! The humans were the villains of the entire franchise. Rexy and all the other dinos were doing by their own animal instincts

I never realized how small it actually is. Spielberg did a great job of making the head seem absolutely massive.

Steve Wang is a flipping genius! I'm actually using his signature sculpting tools (witch are awesome) as I'm watching this video to sculpt a Fluffy from Creep Show mask! That T-Rex is the most incredible bust ever created just the logistics of fabrication is mind boggling!

The t rex in the Park movies are neither hero nor villain. Just an animal.

Many years ago I got a tour round Stan Winston's workshop. They had several t rex heads dotted around the place including one tucked up in the top corner of a room with in its mouth a small fluffy pink pig. They have a strange sense of humour there 🤣

For the Rex head, that's accurate to the physical model.

There are differences between the physical and digital models in the movie that can be pointed out there.

She isnt the villain she is the hero. She killed the lawyer and saved the day.

This is cool. Please start distancing yourself from Star Wars.
