Do you sell on both eBay and Poshmark? Which platform do you prefer?

Thanks for the info. I’ve sold on eBay off and on and remember those days when people charged an outrageous anout for shipping and nothing for the item. I’m looking at Poshmark but I’m totally confused about the whole social aspect of Poshmark. As soon as I signed up, a bunch of people started following me. I don’t even have a listing yet.

Poshmark is my only platform. I like no stress. Thanks for the comparison. 🌷

Poshmark- $15.00 or less/$2.95 fee is actually 20% and up. If an item sells for $5.00 and the fee is $2.95 that is 59% fee. So 20% for more expensive items doesn't seem that bad. I've been an eBay seller for 23 years, not sure if I want to do Poshmark or not. It seems to be trying to model itself after eBay. Enjoyed your video! Have a lovely day! ~Angel

I bought a purse on posh mark. When I went to repost it, they stopped me as they could not authenticate it. Yet they had all the info on my buying it there! They protected the previous seller, and left me in the lurch!

Thank you so much! I have about 7 pairs of shoes/boots and want a simple platform to work with so Poshmark sounds the one for me. You made me a believer.

eBay buyers non payment for accepted best offers is now an industry standard. Too many people (buyers) place multiple offers on “best offer” options and have no intention of paying when the offers are accepted. I accepted a best offer on Poshmark. Then when mailed it at the post office, the buyer messaged me thru Posh and told me, “please don’t ship it because I bought another one from an accepted best offer on eBay last night.” She didn’t realize that Poshmark had charged her credit card! She wanted me to “cancel” her already at the post office shipment! Since the post office person remembered where the package was, as the message was 2 minutes after the po person put it in the mail cart, I retrieved it. Ugh! This was a seasoned posher too, no newbie! eBay better do a better job of getting rid of these buyers. This woman had 10 hours to cancel the Poshmark sale. I mean, “last night” and you don’t have the decency to cancel your offer?! She probably still made 3 or 4 other offers on eBay still outstanding!

I can only speak on my experience with Poshmark but it was awful! I had a buyer who clearly had buyer's remorse and asked me to cancel after the item had shipped. Therefore, I could not cancel the item. Sure enough, what happened, they opened an item not described case. What did Poshmark do? They sided with the buyer even though the listing was a reposh and I added a disclaimer that they ran big for their size which is why I was reposhing. During my messaging process with the buyer they used profane language and I filed a complaint against them with Poshmark and they did nothing to this person and continued to allow them on the platform. They didn't even get a suspension. I was mortified! Finally after being harassed by a buyer and Poshmark doing nothing. I haven't sold on their platform. I was shocked and mortified they would allow a member on their platform who interacted with the community in that way. Unimpressed by Poshmark Period!

Great info!! Would love a Mercari comparison & Depop too. I’ve sold personal stuff here and there on EBay since it began. Just started reselling and chose Poshmark for its simplicity but items like $10-$15 plush or ornaments are not attractive to a buyer who has to pay $7.67 to ship so I’m looking for another platform.

I like EBay more. I do sell on Posh but do not have many sales. Not sure what I am doing wrong but I don't have the hang of it yet. Would love to have you discuss Etsy. I sell lots of vintage items but don't understand Etsy.

Trust me, take returns. I sold an electronic. The buyer decided he didn’t want it, opened a case. After going back and forth he damaged it like a screw you thing. Mind you retail was more than $800, now it can’t be sold as new because there’s a scratch.

Really agree with you on all points. I think overall, PM's 20% fees are comparable to eBay's ridiculously convoluted fee structure. And I LOVE the 3 days to a final sale on PM vs. EB's crazy 30+ days. I still get WAY more sales on EB. Question... when sharing your closet on PM in bulk, I have to go an uncheck all the sold items. It there a way to choose only available items to share?

Where do they hide the shipping fee though? I do not see the 50 cents that they used to take out for shipping.

Posh: I've warmed up a lot to Posh this year, but the fees are brutal on higher priced items. Also the priority only mail is a turn off if you're selling light and cheap items.
Ebay: Difficult, entrenched market to sell in unless you have unique items. Also the listings take way too long to fill out. I can bang out 3-4 Depop/Mercari listings in the time it takes me to fill out an Ebay. Probably obvious I don't use it much.

Could you do a comparison with Depop? I feel like it doesn't get enough love for how good it is.

ebay only. considering poshmark. the sharing thing has held me back.

I'd rather pay ebay's fees and get sales, than get no sales on PM. PM is more expensive even with ebay's fees. You need a VA to get sales on there which is still more than eBay. I guess it's just a matter of preference and opinion. I hate PM!
