The case of 2020 is a lesson that as health personnel we have concentrated on reading scientific articles but we have not taught the population to do so. It may be that "Health Education" is the timid science that saves the world. Greetings from Mexico

Individual clinicians need to talk with all their patients personally and ask what precautions they are taking against COVID19. Trusted physicians have an impact.

Open the economy and schools without cheap home daily testing? It is our only hope for reopening the economy and returning to normalization, or at least stabilization. Easy and readily available, but the FDA is tone deaf! This can be rapidly deployed to the masses @ $1 per test!

How about continually telling to cover their "Nose" as well as their mouth when wearing a mask ! Tell businesses, Lawyer, Real Estate, Insurance, Accountants, offices, etc... to wear a mask when their clients are there and practice social distancing ! Everyone should be protecting each other. I feel unprotected from selfish others not wear a mask.

Tremendous gratitude to Dr. Fauci!

The sooner we all comply, the quicker we will get this under control.
It’s seems like a no brainer to me.

If I were in a long exposure situation, I would totally wear a face shield, like when I start teaching. Kids don’t cover coughs or sneezes, always have a finger in their noses, mouths, and eyes, then love to touch everything they make eye contact with. Classroom ventilation is the absolute worst.

Great interview, as always. Dr. Fauci looks exhausted. I hope he's taking care of himself. We need him.

In the final segment the interviewer mentioned the Marlins baseball team having so many infected players and staff and mentioned the irony therefore if they were the healthiest team at season's end having beaten the virus and as such there seemed to be at least an assumption by the interviewer that there is likely some form of immunity after recovery. Dr. Fauci said he "bet anything" that there would be at least some period of immunity but after that one interview where he said it he seems to be reticent about public pronouncements of that theory. Does anyone at JAMA think that Dr. Fauci has since changed his mind or is it simply because it's felt that it would cause more people to let their guards down as far as prevention goes rather than following the prescribed guidelines ?

We have an epidemic of thoughtlessness among half the population, or so it seems. There's no compassion, no empathy, for others who may be vulnerable. My own personal opinion is that mask wearing should be mandated and fines or other penalties levied for those who put others at risk by not following mask guidelines. This would be similar to the rules and consequences we have in place for running a stop sign or red light, which also puts others at risk. Same principle at work, in my view.

Does anyone reading this know if JAMA has conducted an interview on this channel with Robert Kennedy Jr. regarding vaccines ?

Dr. Fauci is tired. I wish he could get more sleep and take a vacation for a week or two.

Well it is refreshing to hear Dr. Fauci being interviewed by another doctor as opposed to the usual venues we hear from him on comedy shows or on America's unwatchable news networks.

I am wondering if younger children rarely get adults infected because they are short, so their droplets do not reach taller adults...

I honestly don't know how we think masks will replace pickup & delivery or how we justify staying open when case counts are much higher than in Spring & therefore beyond our capability to test & trace much less prevent.

If I were to find any fault with Dr. Fauci, it is that he tends to use words that are more moderate than the situation calls for. For example, instead of "I would like to see universal wearing of masks, " he should be saying "it is absolutely essential that everyone wear masks." Soft words don't really drive home the importance of these things.
